  4. yes i think you could be right regarding the modern crowd applies to me anyway , oh and just for the record in the very early days mrms was just another room playing all sorts as well as oldies but that was.very early days , i hated the big room i prefared the atmosphere of mms ,but that was then!!
  5. its aparant to me no f.. cares anymore there all at it .and most can be found on this site .selling the shit on ebay . coruption hypocrisy its all thats left of somthing that was once so good , from the top to the botom nothing but double standerds . you only needed to see the lack of condemnation on that piracy thred to realise why this scene is f,,,d all the biggest sounds of the northern soul scene at any labour club near you !!
  6. dont know . but i feel a good thred about counterfit records and the numptys that suport them or feel they do no wrong would be a good one

  8. last xmas i got a record deliverd from the states in just 6 days .yes i kid you not just six days normal post and i know a friend who had the same thing
  9. Well said ,Pete----i agree people always remember there formative years wiith affection(rose coloured glasses??) pop tunes have always been played in amongst all the soul ,if they fitted the dance beat--it.s still happening,Soul didn,t die when The Casino opened it just went "overground". All IMHO T,C yes it is, and a good example is the latin tunes that are filling dance floors all over the place , got to admit i dont like most of them ,
  10. you forgot georgie fame and spencer davis
  11. penny droped the first time when i wasant arested , anyway tony dont tell me you was creeping around in the later years pretending to be one of the other firm
  12. very true mate .and them older boys didnt wast any time in pretending to be the squad now and again buggers
  13. soul music was played at many clubs well before any northern soul allnighter ,lol so they didnt play any pop tunes at the wheel then georgie fame and spencer davis and lots n lots more like them all played at the wheel, to be fair and i think correct .the sink club in liverpool was playing more pure black soul music and so did many other clubs around those times . the diference being they didnt run a nighter and use the term northern soul , as for the casino it ran every week for a good few years .when the others mentiond just came and went in no time at all , so lets not gett carrid away in having yet another pop at the best allnighter thats ever been and gone . for me and so many others that went up there .it was a time that was very special the atmosphere the sheer number of people 1500 to over 2400 people in the early days . i personly was influanced by my friends who prefared mrms as for me thats where the party was with an atmosphere ive never experianced ever since , but that was then. its been and gone and i prefare not to look back and compare , just enjoy whats going on now !!

  15. looking forward to being back in burnley again. providing im still here , especialy with my favouret dj;s playing
  16. you think your hard done , i was just 1 pence over and ended up paying £16 or close to it , and that was down to the exchange rate on the day , also just as a mater of fact its down to the royal mail as to who they put forward to customs for the charge ,by law they suposed to inform customs of every item thats due for a charge obviously they would come to a standstill if they played it by the book , ive had to pay charges well over 4 or five times .thanks to the main sorting office in liverpool
  17. nah the next guy didnt want to know .thinking i had bid the auction up myself and came unstuck , anyway how you doing stu ? hope your well my friend not heard owt from you for a while ,
  18. yeah but another problem with a snipe in the wrong hands lol .is this .i was selling some camera gear the other day on ebay after 9 days i started to get exited with some strong bids coming in towards the end ,then some prick with no feedback and never bought anything in 4 years wins the auction using a snipe .with seconds to go its obvious you canot remove the bid and result is the moron has buggerd up the auction. he did this using another id and a snipe as he was the same guy who i had exchanged a few words with over why i didnt want to desclose my reserve , he then sends a short message saying sorry i bid on the wrong camera
  19. in the north west there are trilions of carbon copy clubs, ie clubs playing (the same classics) played out on pressings or cheap outa date in demanders ie well and truly played out five or ten years behind up front rarer clubs or nighters , i know of 3 of these clubs that are visited by the same people going to the same 3 clubs in rotation .they dance to all the same records from the previous week at one of the 3 other clubs in other words same people same records same clubs same er? dj's . no change nothing ?, they havent heard anything diferent since going t' casino 4 or five times in 1977 mrms re viseted over and over again 3 times a month if these are your er? facts my friend , need i say more !!
