sharing the soul radio show has now been on the net for ten years. Previous names for the show: Mid-Tempo Tuesday and Our Northern Souls back on South Holland Radio, Sleeveless Soul with 'Tats' and now, for the last 12 months, 'Sharing the Soul', tuesdays 7pm/10pmk. Occasional features Jobet theme nights, Northern Soul specials and Dave's (Raistrick) discoveries. Also, in the past Cleethorpes and Stafford specials but, in the main, 70s, 60s mid tempo, cross over and DEEP SOUL is served up.

the aftershock of the film (or its potential) has a right to be reviewed as much as whether he had the right pants on or what tunes were played in 74 or any other aspect of the film. what fall-out a film causes (whether good or bad) is as much a part of the film as any other aspect; for without the film (any film) there would be no fall-out (good or bad) x

a lot of people say to me they have so few images back from their youthful days on the scene that it is good that it is being recorded, others just say fuck off with that camera and i just fuck off with it and make sure that person don't get in my image, but on balance i have had more people giving positive feedback than negative by a long way. i am asked why i don't watermark my images and sell them and i always say because people can download them and help themselves for free, it's my little way of giving a scene something back as i have taken so much enjoyment from it for 40 years.....

i always check with the promoter (in advance) before taking my camera into a venue, not one has ever said no and most welcome my shots. if a person comes up to me (as they do quite often) and let me know they do not want to be on any photos then i will make sure they are not, and if they are in the background of the main subject i will burn them off in photoshop. If a person, in hind-sight asks for his/her photo to be removed from where i post it then i will and do oblige, that's just me, it's what i do, i was trained as a photographer and understand these things, model release forms are such a bind so some things have to be taken on trust, but what about the hundreds of fookers with their phone cameras and point-and-shootie things? All in all i must say, i dance to more tunes than i take photos to, my photography is a hobby which many (not all) people appreciate but my soul music is a passion, punter first, dancer second, photographer third.

wait 'til this film comes out, there'll be 77 venues in each town all full of people thinking they're 'doing northern soul'!!!!!
