  1. just a few seconds longer than you would have done... XX
  2. i had to smudge, i just knew both the right track AND moses smith AND many others were going to (and actually were) played 4 times in the same night. still, they danced to kenny thomas so one would reasonably presume at least one would dance to marvin!
  3. butlins' weekender, 400 in the venue (quite early) marvin gaye - let's get it on (re-mix) floor cleared quicker than the bogs at the pier when the d.s. walked in!!! is it me? not one danced (well, one did..... ME!!)
  4. muriel day - nine times out of ten ...sucks, a bit like a dyson but a dyson makes a more soulful sound! ..... just saying
  5. think we've all been there and done that and.... i sometimes wear the t-shirt today OOOps!
  6. i'm with you on that feeling, once in the 'oldies room' at st. ives (about 76) i just felt we were all connected as we were dancing there was no rhym or reason, just a feeling.
  7. two for me 1) the first backdrop routine i did at the casino in late 74. soooo proud i didn't mess it up! 2) my first benzidrex inhaler.... whooooosh! and for only 59p 'nuff said!
  8. charles johnson.... let's face it, most of the vocals are just an intro to C.J. "letting rip" towads the end!..... just saying
  9. in these chemical-free days, anything more uptempo than "the drifter"
  10. not much dignity playing this row out in public? mike, if there are legal procedings is it wise to have this published on ss ..... just asking
  11. i wish!!! oooops, sexist alert AGAIN!
  12. excellent 'ender' it is too malc, to that i would add ben e king - tears, tears, tears and finish on bessie banks - go now. (too slow to dance to, too gorgeous to miss out)
  13. very well said young man
  14. sorry mate, already posted the video and as you are a resident 'collector/player of rare records' i guess the paying public have a right to know that, but i did remove your image though, as you requested on another site. one out of two aint bad . un
  15. so how much does the artist get from ginger's purchase of parliaments then? 10% of a couple of grand would be nice but.... ARE WE FORGETTING... re-selling ANY record is not legal because NO rights are paid, boots or not boots. ..... just saying
  16. some people can read an item a thousand times and still only see what they want to see. don't fight it eddyg, there's more productive things to spend ones' energy on like.... sleep! .... just saying
  17. does that mean you want to distance yourself from being publicised about playing at a venue because you feel that, as a collector you don't need to be part of the P.R. unlike the mere mortals who actually D.J. at the venue. your arrogance is growing beyond you wit paul. and while we're on the subject, if you haven't played a pressing for 12 years the, since you (as far as i remember) have been dee-jaying since 1974 then that makes it about 30 years that you have played the odd pressing. this girl hasn't been deejaying as long as that paul so.... double standards again? oh, no need to apologise, there is nothing you could do to offend me, you don't know me well enough.
  18. sorry paul, my mistake, thought you still deejayed, if you don't there was your spitting image dee-jaying at the skeg weekender in sept. did you want me to delete your name from the resident dee jay list at stamford on the video i made, being a collector and not dee jay and all, i can do that, no probs? .... just asking and yes, i did and do appreciate those records even though only a couple eventually got to me i do applaud your generosity, thank you.
  19. have you never played a pressing paul... ever?.... just asking
  20. don't believe a word of it you pretty little thiNg you oooops! bugger!! there i go again AND off topic... PROPER F'D NOW
