  1. Hi, I am writing a book about my life in Northern Soul and the way it has changed over the years. I have tried before to get some feedback but tend to get just negative responses. It is about peoples perceptions of the scene and all honest feedback is welcomed. I need stories, and if possible pictures, of the 'old days' and also from the fresher eyes of the newcomer. I am not out to critisise but to get a good overall perspective. I have a questionnaire to fill in and the best responses will be featured along with due representation. Please don't dismiss this, take a bit of time to talk about the music you love so much. Send for a questionnaire to the following E-Mail Address Halloween_Jack1@Yahoo.com The people who have responded already have commented that it has helped bring back some long lost memories and brought alittle light into their lives. Thanks for your time and please try to help. Got some good memories - share them
  2. It wasn't Nostalgia for the particular track but for the general sound and genre.
  3. Don't subjet youself to Nostalgia.... The whole ethos of Northern Soul is Nostalgia. In the early seventies we were swamped with music of the Sixties. Nostalgia eh - its not what it used to be. Why don't you go to places that play YOUR definition of Northern Soul - oh you already do though don't you.
  4. Its difficult to tie down who is a snob. We all attend events because we like the Music policy or the DJs and also because we just want to go out and meet up with old mates in a more relaxing environment than the local 'Fun Pub' A 'Northern' Soul Snob is probably justified in many ways as due to pressures from people who want to enforce their opinions on us we are subjected to New Soul, Crossover, Latin or whatever genre of soul they wish to call it. I like the new stuff etc but to label it Northern Soul is a little remiss. Don't preach to me about being a Dinasaur, as I said I like the new stuff but not at a Northern Soul do. Whilst we have your attention. The language used by some of you punters is a little on the coarse side. English not your first language ??
  5. Need to know what the original release label was for Doris Jones - He's So Irreplaceable. By the way - is it 2 Rs and 'ceable' or 1 R and 'cable' ??
