  1. Yep, see the confusion ..
  2. Hi Sebastian. Yes with the R&B - as I said 'more R&B' not 'it is R&B' Difficult sometimes to label stuff. when it doesn't really need to be. Be easy to say not as R& B as ... or not as Funky as .... or not as Soulful as ... Best to appreciate things as a piece of Music etc. Just because its not somebody's cup of tea doesn't make it bad - Personal preference Speak again somewhere down the line Tezza XXX
  3. Personal tastes doesn't mean the record is 'shite' just not your cup of tea. Majestics - I Love You So Much ... Seems like it would be better placed at a Salsa Class but hey, it packs the floor wherever it's played. !!
  4. 70's track - Out about 77. On Jay Cee Records ( Has a picture on the Left side of the Label ) Not true Northern, more R&B. Aquired taste, I love it though. Have a copy. My mate recently bought a copy - cost him £150 I play it out and recently played it at Brid Weekender. Got good feedback. lots of folks ' Not heard that for ages' etc etc Not looked on as Rare but don't see it too often. I believe there is another copy on a different label. Official release in the 80's if my memory serves but don't quote me on it !!
  5. Looking for a copy of Sam Dees - Lonely For You Baby Original SSS copy not the rerecorded version od remixed etc etc Good clean copy if poss (Demo ??)
  6. Not sure of the Road Name. It was as you entered Temple Normanton from Hasland on the left oppersite the Bus Stop. Chalky, will keep you in the loop if we can sort it.
  7. Eddie still does the local Circuit. He comes to our Do regularly at The Phoenix with Tommo and Andy and is also a regular at North Wings for Steve Browm/Pete Taylors Do. Yep, he was at Brid and will be at Scarbro. When I see him I'll tell him to search you out at Scarbro if you are going !?!?!. The Manloves stopped promoting Soul Do's now. Hollingwood closed and they moved to Barrowhill for a short while. Thats now gone - Stuart Bowler took it on and moved it to Oxcroft. Be great to see you sometime. Talking to a few folk and gonna try to get in touch with the old crowd and get them all back together for a reunion. I'll let you know.
  8. Is it not the responsibility of the Punters. As Coops said a little earlier, if we didn't buy it then it would not be economically viable for the Vendors to attend with their Merchandise. We ourselves ( or you yourselves ) are just perpetuating it by pandering to their whims. Ignore them and walk past, unless its someones Birthday and that card looks good, isn't that a picture of their fav record ?? We have all been there. If it offends your eyes then don't look They don't force it into your hand. !! Like the idea of the Brid Boys, a seperate area so if you want something you have to visit them.
  9. Bad dude !!!
  10. Its in the original message Tony !!
  11. Tiger Feet - Priceless LMAO !!!
  12. The Snake !!! And Monkey Time !!!! How did I not remember those 2
  13. Can you name Northern Soul records with 'Animals' in the title ?? Start you off :- Night Owl - Bobby Paris The Horse - Cliff Nobles Night Of The Wolf - Al Foster Band Penguin Breakdown - LJ Reynolds Honey Bee - Johnny Johnson & The Bandwagon Afternoon Of The Rhino - Mike Post Coalition Walking The Dog - Rufus Thomas Cats Eyes - Life Not all 'Classics' by anybody's standards but just a bit of fun. Any more ???
  14. Gotta say, I never thought it was a legit copy but never seen one like it before or since. If its coloured in then it's been done by some professional artist because it is 'perfect' Still, it looks cool on the decks !! Thanks for all the information Tezza XXX
  15. Cheers Sebastian, If that's right then someone has gone to a lot of trouble colouring it in. Is the Demo marked 'Promotional Copy/Demo Copy' or was it just a White Label ?? Cheers matey
  16. You're just showing off now !!! Lol !!!
  17. Hi, As requested Not sure where its from originally or if its legit ?!?!?
  18. Yep, straight in to the little room. No upstairs. Hollingwood Hotel was an upstairs do that used to get packed but that was later !!
  19. Yeh Wendy, North Wingfield Thursday, Tupton Village Hall Sundays, YMCA (First Time Around) and we did a night at Stores Road Youth Club. Chesterfield was heaving with Soul Do's in the 70's Terry Dean, yes he did Marry Ruth. We were good freinds and went through the Miners Strike with them - Dark Times !! Inky Dinky Wang Dang Doo !! awesome XXX
  20. Remember them well but Sexy Rexy's was a little 'Down Market' for us, we used to shop at Image, on a side road just off the top of The Moor. Shopped mainly in Notts in the early 70's, an unknown Taylor making bespoke clothing by the name of Smith, Paul I beleive, before he became too famous !! My Sister worked at Burtons in Rotherham and had the Taylors there make us stuff.
  21. Damn right - Dancing was a personnal thing. When you were on the floor you were alone in your own little world, had no thought for the way others did their thing. There's no such thing as a bad Dancer !! Get up and let the music take you to your own personnal heaven
  22. Matchy was awesome. He live the record as he danced. You can keep all the acrobatics etc, Could sit all night and watch Matchy and Mick from Samanthas !! the way he shuffled around the floor - still doing it now.
  23. When DJing there the one track that stood out head and shoulders was The Yum Yums - Big Thing. Still invokes the memories of the little clubs around Chesterfield whenever I hear it. Nev Wherry introduced me to JJ Caillier - Pusherman ( not out and out NS but an awesome track) and he also gave me a copy of The Crow - Your Autumn Of Tomorrow ( He had 2 copies ) All the names of the local boys and girls as said before - Alan Dean ( bessy mate) and his annoying little bro Terry Lol !! Chris and Andy Hewitt, Derek Phanthom, Sue Morris and Tilley, Marie Wilde, Maria Bowdler, Jo-an ( my other half). John Poole, and of course Chalky !! Dragged some of the Samanthas crowd across occassionally. Rob Wigley !! when he was a skinny liitle kid. Rod Salway and Julie, Jez Murray and Gigs ( first met him there I think ) All the Weavers ( Too many to name ) Mona when he was No. 1 in Chesterfield ( Still is XXX) Back later when I think of more names ....
  24. Wendy !! Too many Terry's I was 6 ft ish and had short Red Hair, Terry Dean was shorter but had Black Hair, Terry Smith was tall'ish and had Mousey coloured Hair ( I think)
