Its not my opinion, it's what a couple of others have said. We play an Oldies night and this is deemed 'other' You can't deny the quality and I feel ' Play it and be damned' ( If I can get one that is !! ) Cressy and a few others play it and it never fails to get people of all ilks up on the floor but thats not why I want it, its just so bloody good !!

I am looking for a copy of The Montclaires -- Hey You ( don't Fight It ) (Good copy !!) Had a few people warn me that it's not a 'suitable' record for the crowds we attract at The Phoenix in Chesterfield but I absolutely adore it. Bit pricey for a 'stuck in the box' record but Hey !! Vincent used to play this at Sams, obviously prior to the 7" release, the Only format !! Got a nice Demo that looks so nice spinning on the decks. Bobby Hutton himself was looking for a copy of this last year - does anyone know if he managed to get one ??

You are right Len but seldom get negative feedback. Always a pat on the back and 'keep up the good work' I ask for honest feedback on our Web Site so we can 'put things right' but don't get any. Never see it on SS - but that's a whole other thread !! The only way punters can and do make a point is by not attending which is a very powerful and sometimes terminal statement.

The DJs are and should be paid for there service's as they then use the funds to buy more Vinyl and pay for their Fuel ( expensive these days !! ) Some times they are not paid as the venue isn't that well attended and its then for 'the love of the Music' or they are there to help a friend. There is nothing wrong in playing for a freind and reciprocating the offer as long as it doesn't become the Norm but who are we to tell someone how to run an event ?!

Circa 1976 - Me and a few mates called in at the Bar of Middlecroft Leisure Centre in Chesterfield. In the main hall they were setting up some speakers and a small stage. Asked around and apparently there was a band on. Decided too stop and watch to see if they were any good. Us 3 and 6 other people in the big Hall - Johnny Johnson and The Bandwagon !! No one knew who they were !!!

What would be your ideal Soul Night Oldies, Modern, Motown, Across the board, Funk, R&B .... ???? Don't look at previous entries and comment on them, look at this with a pair of blinkers on and say what YOU like and not how someone else is talking shit !! You could give an example if you wish but lets try and keep it clean and tidy !!

I have used PC Screen Foam Cleaner before. Spray on, leave 10 - 15 secs then either gently wipe with soft tissue or dab off. Not sure if it gets all the baked on dirt off though. Also works on Vinyl but then you would need to clean with luke warm soapy water.

And how your shirt used to come out polka dotted with Tar Stained water dripping off the ceiling !!

Cured !! Have you got thier address ?? As always Coops, you are a gent. I recall asking you once not to take too many in my vicinity to which you duley obligued. Its the irreverent Clickers and Flashers that have popped up. New technology makes it a little easier to take good quality/resolution pictures, its the framing etc that needs extra work but until then they take a hundred pictures hopng that one will be THE Picture. As I said, I like the resulting pictures but as I suffer its sometimes not worth it for me - Selfish but honest. Love your work my friend XXX
