Recently attended a 'do' and the DJ played what is one of my all timers Deon Jackson - Someday The Sun Will Shine. It was on a 10" White Labelled affair. Would this be legit or 'something else' I understood that this Track was never released and as far as I am aware only 1 Acetate exists, which by all accounts is in a dreadful condition. Anyone any thoughts ??

Been after a 'proper' copy for a few years now and finally got one. Black issue !! Always assumed the Demo was harder to find but quite happy now that I managed to get the issue. Never played my old copy as it was a BOOT !! but now it will get plenty of air. Quality track that seems to have fallen by the way side over the years. Time for a resurrection.

Hi Barney, I think its more down to the fact that most women don't give a shit about what the label is as long as it sounds good. No being disparaging about women just an observation. My wife has been going to do's since the mid to late 70's and she still asks me to ask the DJ for 'Something I like !!' Note, I say MOST WOMEN, there are some out there that do care but as a ratio to men ..... Yes, got to agree with the Door thing. They always seem to get the shitty end of the stick. They take the money, probably do a lot behind the scenes but the Boys get the Pat on the Back ( Quite right too, know your place Lol !! ) Round of applause please for all the Girls that put in the hours XXX Back in the early days it used to amaze me how few Black people frequented Soul do's and today, as I said, very few Asians, a bit like Football - but that's for another thread !! 100% We have had a couple of Girls play for us - Cathy C and Linda K and they went down a storm. They were judged on the quality of the music they played and not on the colour of their Lipstick. Behind the decks they are DJ's, there is no question about sexual discrimination. Not enough Asians in the Soul Scene ?!?! it goes on and on and on ... Age wise, not so sure. Need to have put in the roadwork before you can run a Marathon. Saw a young kid behind the decks at a venue - 9 years old FFS. Really ???!!!??? Aww - Bless was the overall consensus but truely belittling the scene. We get ridiculed from the outside as it is don't need to help them !!
