  1. SEVEN !!
  2. I agree with you Len on that. Sorry to have plagiarised, not my intention. My post was not really aimed at an individual but as a generalism. Some. as you say, like to share but others do like to preach. No one knows whether I have tried and decided its not for me or dismissed it out of hand. Either way it is my choice and others should respect my decision as I do those people who have either moved on or embraced other genres. You are a most entertaining guy on SS and I love to read your threads as with MrC, PeteS, Geeslad etc. Many times I disagree or have a slightly different opinion but would never dream of 'correcting' anyone (unless its a Factual error). Its what drives this site and keeps people interested and educated. Look forward to your reply Lol !! Tezza XXXX

  7. Really, its all subjective stuff. Its like insisting that someone who liked the Beatles should now have moved on to One Direction etc. (Analogy)!! There is nothing wrong in liking what you like but like Jovo Witnesses, don't keep knocking at my door trying to 'put me right'. I/We are happy with our lot and do not need to be shown the error of our ways. If you need to move on then so be it but cut the Umbilicle Cord and go with our blessing. Don't mind you coming home for a visit any time you wish but leave your CD's and Soapbox at home. Bridlington Weekender is approaching. Won't find me in the Modern Room or R&B Room but I won't be outside with a Plackard and a Picket line. Enjoy your Music. We are not all Lady Ga Ga fans.
  8. Nice. Look on't tinternet and look for old playlists from the late 60's early 70's. Books on The Torch, Wheel, and the Casino usually have a list of stuff actually played. There is generally a lot of stuff that was played but never progressed through the years which could be labelled 'Forgotten Oldies'. It seems that people love to label things with some derogatory tag such as Top 500 etc. Read the Top 500 and some of them will surprise you, not all but some. If you are into oneupmanship then put the book down, its not for you !!
  9. Is it this way because we allow it to be so ?

  14. Thought you had one Grah ?
  15. Noticed the use of the phrase's Post Wigan and the Casino Days. I know it gives a finite period of time to work from but there were many more places apart from The Casino. These DJ's honed their teeth in equally as iconic venues. In The Torch Days, back in The Wheel, at The Esquire Club ( not as well know but World famous in Sheffield ). Wouldn't 'back in the early days' or the 70's etc suffice ? I don't think some of the DJ's give the Punters credit some/many places and tend to play the 'Safe' stuff. We, the Punter, remember and would like to hear it again. Spread your wings and gauge the response. Might be slow on the uptake but wasn't it always like that back in the Casino Days - DOH !! Remember when Lou Pride bombed, kept playing it and BOOM !!! Replace Lou Pride with an Artist or Beat Combo of your choice.
  16. Another Issue !! How lucky is he ?

  19. I was asked what music I liked. I said " I like a wide variety from Led Zepp through to David Bowie. My real love is old Soul Music " 'Old Soul Music, such as who ?' he asked " You probably don't know most of them. Along the lines of Jackie Wilson " I said 'Oh, Reet Petite, I love that too' he said " Bye " I said ......
  20. Cheers Benji Pretty straight forward then !! Ha ha.
  21. Someone has a Bobbie Smith - Walk On Into My Heart on an American Arts Demo I have noticed in the past that the 'AA' Demo had Red Writing where this one has Black Writing. Also, I have seen White Label 'AA' copies in the past but they don't say Promotional Copy on them. The one for sale is a Black Writing one which is exactly the same as the Red Writing one. Was it ever Pressed in this format or is it a different Plant/Run or did they just run out of Red Ink !!! Anyone ??
  22. Original Vinyl Only - Would Cushion Flooring be OK as it didn't really come in until the 70's/80's
