  1. Hi Dave, Thanks for the prompt reply. Much appreciated. I have to confess that I haven't read any of your publications. It is only in the past 3 years or so that I have got back into the music and I enjoy a good read. What sort of numbers are you looking at and what sort of price? Best Regards. NEWKID
  2. Hi, Thanks for the quick reply. I have an odd copy of Black Echoes, but at the moment it is not one that I am really interested in. Should this change I will get back to you. Thank you for your time and your responce. Very much appreciated. NEWKID.
  3. Hi, Does anyone out there have any back issues of 'In The Basement' - prior to No.12 and 'Voices From The Shadows'? Or any others except Manifesto, Togetherness and Blues and Soul. Cheers, NEWKID.
  4. Hi Soulsider. Many thanks for that scan. As I said, all the time I went to the Blackpool Casino I can't recall ever seeing a patch for sale. Had I done so, I would certainly have bought one. Will now have to look for one! As you said, a great club, playing great sounds. I went '68, '69, early '70's, and like you have some fantastic memories. Heard Marvin's 'Little Darlin'' there for the first time and will never forget that moment. It is still my favourite sound. Happy Days. Newkid.
  5. "The Blackpool Casino". Now there is a name you do not see very often these days. Is there anyone out there who used to go there? I remember it fondly, as I used to holiday in the town and it was the place where I first heard many of the sounds that I still love to today I got to know the dj Gay Wylde, who had some top sounds in the days before imports became a big thing. Does anyone have a scan of that Casino patch, as I can't recall ever seeing one. I do still have one of my mebership cards though. Newkid.
  6. Just back from the show at the MEN Arena. Thought this might be the last chance to see some of the "legends" live, so made the trip down from north of the border. Was bit disappointed when I noticed the running order on the wall of the ticket office, with the Commodores receiving top billing!!!!!!!! I have just read some reviews of the show in Nottingham, which were quite critical, but last night's was spot on, although the Commodores hour would have been better halved and the whole cast giving us a half hour finale of Motown classics. Best part for me personally was deciding to go and stretch the legs during the break and bumping into both Martha Reeves and Mary Wilson. Awsome.
  7. Has anyone got any back issues of 'In The Basement' magazine, prior to No. 12?
  8. Hi Jon, Just noticed the date on your post, so imagine they will have gone. If so, sorry to bother you. IAIN.
  9. Hi Jon, Just picked up your piece on the Mags. I would be interested in them. Don't live in London, but would gladly pay postage. Hope you still have them. Regards, IAIN.
