  1. Remember that night well, had some great nights at the Saints.
  2. Fond memories of Duncan, he was kind enough to sell me his copy of Karmello Brooks - Tell me baby, at the Congleton All-nighter for £120. Those were great days. He just had to play it once before he handed it over. Top Man.
  3. It's also on martialartsplanet.com Quote from the Richard Rae on the site. I noticed a few folk mentioning Duncan and apologies if this has already been discussed but wanted to post this on here for those who knew him. Duncan died of Covid in Limasol Cyprus. as per the attached. RIP Duncan a true gent and a great fighter.

  6. Keith loved raising money for Children in Need, each year at the Queens soul nights he would set his target of a £1000, I'm happy to say on many occasions he achieved way above his target. Come on folks this is achievable, let's do it for Keith, let's hit the target one more time. In memory of the man that was there right from the very beginning and dedicated his whole life to the soul scene.
  7. Absolutely devastating news, Keith you will be greatly missed, our sincere condolences to all family and friends, RIP dear friend
  8. Happy 70th Birthday Keith, Where have the years gone, it doesn't seem five minutes since we were at the Queens celebrating your 40th. People came from near and far to celebrate and dance to the many tunes you had a hand in making popular on the Northern scene. I have seen so many DJ's struggle filling a floor and you would come on and say "Watch this?", play one record and it would fill the floor instantly. I will never forget the rare records you balanced on your head whilst getting the next record to play. I only wish I had a photo to share of you with a copy of Bobby Kline on your head, while you were playing the Hy-Tones - You don't even know my name, on Southern Artists. I remember you buying the Hy-Tones at Keele all-nighter in the 90's, doing the last spot which loved so much and packing the floor to a huge round of applause. When I think back over the years there's not a time I can recall when you were not on the scene, from being a teenager and listening to your spots at Tiffany's all-dayers and Wigan Casino to later years travelling many miles with you to various all-nighters and soul events. I recall no matter what you made selling records at a record fair or all-nighter, the money was always spoken for, there was always another record, another rarity to add to your collection and what a collection over the years, or should I say many collections. As soon as you sold one collection you started again. You are the original vinyl junkie. One record that will always remind me of you is Jackie Edwards - I feel so bad, this record had a special place in you heart. I remember you telling me you sold a collection and before you handed it over you took 2 records, one was Hoagy Lands - The next in line, the other Jackie Edwards. I could go on sharing memories forever, Keith you are a legend, Happy Birthday have a fantastic day and let there be many more.

  23. Roger, great man, great DJ, record dealer, collector and more. A man with great foresight that has put many people on to tomorrow’s biggies. I can remember him playing Harvey- Any way you wanta at Bradford all-nighters turning it in to a overnight monster, also purchasing many a great 45 from Roger. It’s always worth having a delve through his boxes, just a couple of £8 records that stick in my mind I bought from Roger, Dottie and Millie – Talkin’ about my baby – Topper and Constellations – I didn’t know how to – Gemini. A man with great enthusiasm who in his DJ sets over the years included the likes of – Kinnettes – Instrumental E Williams – Trade my soul to the devil – Jaadee Wallie Hawkins and Rose MCcoy - Switch around Royal Robins – Something about you that sends me – Tru GloTown Hesitations – That’s what love is – Soul Superman LP Bobby Hutton – Come see what’s left of me - Phillips Plus many many more I remember Roger double deckin’ with Mark Bicknell at the 100 Club in the 90’s with flashing road hazard lights and Roger wearing a hard hat and fluorescent jacket lol. Truly great tunes played in that set.
  24. R.I.P Esher, thank you for the good times, Another who has gone too soon.
