  9. What I can't get my head around is when someone has say a 50 / 60 th birthday party invites loads of people then charges folk to come in no disrespect to people but if your having a party and inviting folk in my opinion it looks pretty poor when you have to charge folk to come and celebrate yer birthday....I've had a 40 th & 50th both packed to the rafters all the DJs played for nowt I The rest hire of venue ,Buffett ect ect ect I saved up and paid out of my own pocket ..I'm having a big 60 th Birthday Party 5 th July at Stubshaw Labour Club in Ashton in Makerfield with the help of good friends who have organised the venue free use of equipment DJs who are giving there time up for free and me saving up to put on a decent Buffett hopefully it will be a reet gud do with brilliant music played in my opinion keep soul nites to there regular dates and party's separate dates ....You know it makes sense LOL
  10. A beautiful service both in Church and at the Crem Brian and a fitting tribute to Keith a one off life was never dull whenever you where in Keith's company great bloke who had a real love for Soul Music .Along with myself Kev Appleton Carl Farrington & Keith under the Sounds of Soul Collective we had some brilliant times DJ,in at venues around the Northwest in the late 80s early 90s something always happened whenever we ran our do,s like amps setting on fire lol Like you said Brian Keith never liked going to the bar but always seemed to get drunk lol I remember coming back from Burscough couple years ago with Keith driving around 1.30 am down a dark unlit lane he had the tape playing and took his hands off the wheel turned around and said you had one of these did,nt ya Ian blimey it's a wonder we where,nt killed then later we called into McDonalds drive thro and Keith ordered fish chips and mushy peas then had a argument with the poor young lad who tried to explain they did,nt sell chips n fish but Keith would,nt have it and was adamant he had bought chips n fish there few weeks previous bloody mad or what he he... Keith Brady Gone Never Forgotten Always Loved.....Thanks for the Memories Mate...Ian C x

  19. Only winding ya up about Benzine mate I also love all the 45s mentioned by you but most where played pre 1975 at venues like Highland Room ect and of course Wigan Cas what I have,nt got over is the run of new discoveries that was being played at Wigan by Searling Brady Rushbrook 79 81 75 to 78 the new music played at Wigan was poor in my opinion compared to the later years 79 81 ..
  20. Pete I went to the first niter at Wigan and the last and most inbetween nothing what was played at Wigan after 75 ish was has good as what was being played by Searling Rushbrook & Brady until the later years in my opinion but we all have Differant tastes you like stuff like Benzine Village of tears which in my opinion is the biggest load of tosh every played at any soul club LOL Me I like Jnr McCants Try me Nomads Something Bad Ray Agee losing again Cashmeres Showstopper Court Davis Magnetics ect ect ect like I said different Strokes... Goodbye Nothing To Say Pete hav a gud day xx
  21. Wigan casino was a great nite long before the All Niters started in Sept 73 Fridays & Saturdays where always great nites with a great mixture of sounds played including sounds that where played at the country's top soul clubs Major Lance ,Edwin Starr where amongst many artist that appeared at the Casino before the Niters started thus when Russ started the Niters it had a good young crew of regular punters that carried on going to the Niters Wigan in the 70s was the Top Alniter / Disco after the Torch shut musically after 75 until 79 ish it was pretty poor but after 78 Richard S Pat Brady, Gary Rushbrook, ect ect started playing some terrific tunes that ave stood the test of time as rare northern soul ie Walter & the Admerations , Court Davis Ray Agee Admirations You left me Paris , William Powell, Jnr McCants try me King a Pat Brady spin and many many rare 45s that are still to this day sort after by the Collecters Worldwide Love Him or Loathe Him Russ Winstanleys Wigan Casino Alnighters have left a legacy that cannot be overlooked in the Worlds Music History great venue in its day right time in history .Personally I find it really bizzare that some folk keep trying to recreate the past with Wigan Casino this and Casino that but hey Differant Strokes for Differant folks some find it bizzare that I go match angling LOL But for the Casino we would,nt have met so many nice people and become life long friends with so many .. Love, Peace & Happiness Ian Cunliffe
