My good friend Steve Hill from Leigh passed away earlier this week Hilly was only 52 and will be
missed by all who knew him.I have many fond memories of Hilly from the days of the Highland Room
and the Torch & Wigan Cas he was a true soul and had a immense knowledge of 60,s / 70,s
Black music .I went to see him in Hope Hospital couple weeks ago and has soon as i walked
into the room his eyes lite up we spent the next few hours talking Soul Detroit Philly,Chicago
New York god the guys knowlege was awesome he was a talking history book we remembered the days of The Torch when i left my new suit jacket in the van and when we came out Garry Evans n Nicky Abbott
had made a fire in the back of the van and burned the arm off my new suit jacket , he had me laughin
when he recalled the nite in the Highland Room when he did a backdrop and forgot to put his hands on the floor and laid himself out he he , Hilly had me in tears laughin at the time Pete Lawson robbed all the frozen food from my mates Dads Shop and helped himself to a big bunch of Bananas hanging up and scoffed around a dozen then had bad guts for two days after. Yip Hilly was one of the original Leigh Soul
Boys life was never dull when he was around whenever Edwin Starr came to Leigh Casino over the years
Hilly would be there bambozzlin Edwin with his knowledge of 60,s Detroit Music .. Great Guy and a sad loss
The funeral is this Wed 11-45am at Howe Bridge Cremmy Atherleigh Way Leigh
