  9. Noooo John Manship in a previous life was in the Order of Knights Templar he is a lost soul still searching for the Holy Grail he will never find it . The Holy Grail he seeks is reported by to be buried somewhere beneath a old stone mill on the border of Lancashire / Yorkshire on the old Halifax Road guarded by the Monkey King lol
  10. Rare records are has you know collectables just like antiques a lot of collecters of rare records dont even bother going to soul do,s they just go about their daily life and if a rare 45 comes available what these people want they bid up to what they can afford yes the Precisions is a fantastic slab of Detroitsoul but nearly all collections have it or should have when a record like Eddie Parker comes available most of the copies are in the hands of Northern diehards who wont sell or in the hands of collecters who wont sell,so the price goes up when a few people with dosh bid against each other Its the old saying a record is only worth what someone is willing to pay and with more collecters these days than ever before some with serious dosh the price on such a powerful Detroit recording like Im Gone with its history and condition .ect is bound to attract the big money. Like most people on SS i know loads of Detroit Recordings which are much better than Im Gone but the bottom line is most of them are readly available for very little money and most collecters have them........
  11. Just depends who,s still kicking about lol
  12. I sold a copy last year to a mate for way less than what it's expected to fetch but hey there's plenty money out there and people willing to pay decent dosh for quality rare records in pristine condition.. Me I like buying rare 45's with a few marks and bit of history for next to nowt LOL

  17. Like Phil says its not about the Dj,s or egos ect its about the music and having a really good night in great company. No matter who Phil , Joan & Co have on has guest DJ,s on the nite one things for sure they will play to keep the soulies happy with their own brand of rare soul music , i cant wait until 20th April when the Grumpy crew are joined by two of my favourite DJ,s Carl Fortnum who i have the upmost respect has a top bloke and brilliant DJ and who always gets me dancin and Paul Shirley who has amassed a brilliant collection of rare northern dancable soul and really knows how to put a great selection of tunes together to get soulies of their arses and up on the dancefloor.. It will be another beltin nite of Soul Music roll on 20th April
