Would anyone please tell me how to tell a boot of ' I was born to love you ' on the Spar label. I bought it in good faith as an original many years ago and need to make sure before i sell it. Thanks in advance. Tony. OZ.

I have an outcome at last. The customer finally got back to me and was very apologetic. Seems he did want to buy the 3 records and was quick to get in through fear of losing them and subsequently offered me a deposit, which i was happy to take. Now he say's he can't come up with the rest of the money ( and we are talking about a substantial sum ). I have offered to refund his deposit and will re-list them. Not worth getting into a war over money as i know i can move the 3 on with no trouble. He gave me a genuine personal reason for not proceeding with the deal and i'm an easy going sort of guy. Might have been a different story if they were going to be difficult records to re-sell. All's fair in love and war as they say. By the way he is not a soul source member so no need to name and shame. Am closing the thread now but thanks for all the comments and advice.

Could anyone please shed any light on a couple of 45's I have and can't find in Manships guide. I think the one by the 5 Royales must be extremely rare. I know I have never seen or heard ot before. The 5 Royales, Think c/w I'd better make a move. This is on a King complimentary deejay special. The label is cream in colour and there is a list of the group members plus a little story of the group and it's music. The ' THINK ' side is pure R'NB, a bit like Little Willie John 'Im shakin'. The other side is more doo wop. I will be putting this in my sales but whats it worth ? Jimmy Soul, Twistin' Matilda c/w I can't hold out any longer. It's on the SPQR label. Hank Ballard and the Midnighters, the switch-a-roo c/w the float. The Float is pure R'NB. On the blue King label. Nothing about any of these in Manships guide. Any help would be appreciated. Quite a few people have asked why I am selling my prized collection of rare 45's. While it was a huge decision and not one I took lightly I may add, the simple reason is I just don't need them anymore. When Sue and I lost our beloved venue ' The Fly ' nothing seemed the same anymore, plus with 4 or 5 deejay spots in the U.K. every year it was getting too much lugging a box of 100 records half way round the World. Yes there are a lot of very rare and quality records to be had in my collection but I would rather them go to people I know will at least play them and hopefully give others pleasure from them. A lot of the records I am selling have never been played by me. That seems like a terrible waste. There is nothing untoward in my decision and I hope everyone finds something of interest to add to their collection. Sometimes it takes the slightest thing to trigger something in our minds.
