  1. Would like a copy of this with B side Key To My Happiness on the blue Stang label please. Both sides to be at least excellent condition. It's not an expensive 45 so no stupid prices please. P.M. me if you have one with a price shipped to a U.K. address. Thank's, Tony.
  2. No preference Gareth as long as the condition is excellent.
  3. Can anyone assist with this on Atlantic 7 inch please? Prefer condition to be excellent to mint minus. Only the 7 inch. P.M. me if you have one with a price shipped to a U.K. address. Thanks in advance, Tony.
  4. I seem to recall a conversation some years ago with someone talking about the Abadi brothers, and the fact they also had a club in Blackpool similar to the Wheel in Manchester, and running at the same time. Can any Wheel aficionados confirm this as true and to what extent did the club run to ie similar music policy, dates it ran from and to etc. It would be great to have comments from people who frequented the club and if there exists any photos you can upload. I believe this club rarely gets a mention but it was surely a big part of what was to become the Northern scene in Blackpool along with the then unheard of Highland Room. Thanks in advance, Tony.
  5. Am looking for this to complete the set. GS201 Sam Ward and the Professionals. Must be in at least excellent condition and would prefer the original sleeve if possible. Price please shipped to U.K. address. No daft prices just picked up the Al Willams/Lester Tipton for a tenner mint. PM me. Thanks in advance, Tony.

  9. I gotta find a way to get you back by the Temps. Was this covered by a female artist also as i seem to remember hearing it a while ago? Any help appreciated. Tony.
  10. Sorry Maryam I ain't about to kark it and have sold all my records, replaced em with a nice Audi R8 tho, fancy that??
  11. Hey Len, This topic was always gonna come up, it was just a matter of time. Glad it was you and not me that started it, well done mate. No matter what opinions are put forward there will always be a few that will disagree as with any kind of topic, questionnaire. SO i will try to put my opinion in without 'HOPEFULLY" putting my foot in it and causing a riot online. As many on here well know i had a great collection of original records that i collected over many years, and had the pleasure of deejaying at many venues in the U.K. Had many pleasant times hunting for the elusive tunes in attics, op shops etc. and managed to "find" the Nolan Chance on Bunky which today there are still only one or possibly two known copies (but that is for another topic which has been discussed on here). I decided to sell my whole collection four years ago and it coincided with a move from Australia to Kefalonia in the Greek islands. Many reasons made me sell up. I personally got fed up with the "chin strokers" worrying whether or not OVO was being played and owning many of the records i had caused some jealousy among people i knew and there was always the feeling of being back stabbed just because i had those sounds. One day, and it was after doing the 'first spot' at an allnighter where i played every top record i had including Ree Flores, Al Willams, Calvin Grayson, Pat Lewis, Betty Wilson to name a few, and a guy came up on stage and said "what you playing all them for, what about the other deeejays that are coming on later? That really was the straw that broke the camels back for me and i decided i "was over it all". The rest is history and there are many people on here who benefited from buying a lot of my stuff. Anyway to get back on topic, what i did before i sold them was buy a turntable that connected to my laptop and i played every single record, A and B side, and they were stored on a hard drive for prosperity. So they were downloaded from my ORIGINAL VINYL right?? When i moved here to Kefalonia we started a Soul night three nights a week and yes i play everything from my hard drive through a Numark double deck tune selector which shows the tune qued up on my laptop, then via a mixer, amp and through the speakers. There would be no room to take 1000's of records anyway. We have no problems with the sound quality. Most of the crap sound systems being used now are so old and well used that no wonder the music sounds like it's coming through bean tins. The point here is we have many "original soulies" visit the club throughout the year, some went to Wigan, Blackpool etc and are still active on "the scene" now, and no-one worries "where the sound comes from" they are there to dance, socialize and have a good time. What i am saying is the tunes i have are from my records, some 5000 of them and the range of tunes is there to cater for anyone that comes through the doors. I "moved on" while there was still a demand, and the money i got from the records i owned went to give me and Sue a better life, and the opportunity to travel and do basically what we want. In my opinion most of the young ones coming through now will NEVER have the money to buy all the expensive originals that are out there unless they have a fantastic job. So just where will the records end up. Probably thrown into the graves of the owners. This is just my opinion, and i still love to ferret in record shops, op shops and the like. In fact i recently returned from Australia with over 300 records, some will end up on our "wall of fame" in the bar along with all the posters/memorabilia etc. It used to be 'what's in the groove that counts but we are now in the 21st century. To summarize....It's the sound, not where it comes from that's important. Yes i know i am going to 'get it in the neck" for this reply, but sorry guy's "I do have an opinion" and it is mine only. Oh and our soul bar is full every night, and no-one is under 45. T Bone.
  12. Can anyone help with the contact details of the guy that runs the Downtown soul nights in Dereham please. Thanks in advance, Tony T Bone.
  13. I have some really fond memories of ferreting in record shops and second hand shops while living in Australia. The best find was the unplayed copy of Nolan Chance on Bunky. Spent 12 weeks over there recently and every weekend i traveled back to those old haunts to see just what i missed the last time around. It was amazing to find all the records were still there in the boxes as i left them.....untouched and unsorted for over 35 years. There were over 20,000 singles to go through in the upstairs attic of one shop alone, most of them in mint nick. The owner said spend as much time as you want so weekends later i came away with over 300 real beauties. Here are a few, San Remo Strings, I'm satisfied, ric tic, Barbara Mason, if you knew him like i do, NGC, Ronnie Williams, no sin to lie, roxbury, Willie Hightower, because i love you, capitol, Cliff Nobles, the horse, direction, Bobby Bland, if i don't get involved, mala, Triumphs, joust about, swan promo (with "reversion clause") stamped on label, Frederick Knight, lean on me, stax, The Seeds, try to understand, crescendo, Lillian Briggs, boogie blues, epic promo, Bill Black, closin' time, hi, Four Tops, yesterdays dreams, pink motown new Zealand, Deon Jackson, love takes a long time growing, atlantic, Len Barry, like a baby, brunswick, Mel Torme, comin' home, London, April Stevens, wanting you, mgm, Bill Cosby, little ole'man, warner bros, Lynne Randell, thats a hoe down, cbs, Bobby Hebb, bread/sunny, phillips, Jerry Butler, aware of love, top rank, Freda Payne, he's in my life, invictus promo ( never heard this one before i found it), Inez Foxx, Mockingbird, peak, Dooley Silverspoon, let me be the number one, seville, Len Barry, it's that time of year, festival, Len Barry, it's a crying shame, festival, Doug Parkinson, soon as your thing is done, SRS (still only a handful of copies known to still exist), Flirtations, little darling i need you. Plus a whole load of Motown all in mint nick, and many many more too many to list all of them. We stopped in Athens on the way back to Kefalonia and visited a couple of record shops. There are literally hundreds of thousands of records there, many of them on the flea markets and all nice and cheap too. One shop had a basement dedicated to soul albums only and there were some amazing rare things down there. Greece is an untouched area as far as records go and we will be back there asap to do some more ferreting around. Picked up a mint Carla Thomas, the puppet on Atlantic among others. They are still out there, it's just a matter of time if you have it to spare. Happy hunting!!! T Bone.
  14. Please include postage to Australia. Prefer at least EXcellent condition please. thanks in advance Tony
  15. Slightly unusual request for a very good friend. I am looking for this on the 7 inch on orange Epic with Mi Neuvo Cancion on the B side. Excellent condition preferred please. Very grateful if anyone has a copy they want to shift. PM with a price shipped to Australia please. Thanks in advance, Tony.
  16. Was the record ever booted from its original Way Out label, and if so whats the going rate for it please? Thanks in advance Tony.
  17. Hi Guy's, Please feel free to move this if it's in the wrong section. As some of you may know i moved from Australia to Kefalonia two years ago and have set up a really great Soul venue in Skala. We were really busy in the last two seasons, and have just redecorated the bar in black and white which looks stunning. We have quite a bit of different memorabilia on the walls, including a selection of 50 records, a vintage 1960's mod suit and Ben Sherman shirt kindly donated. We have more wall space to fill and I am looking for anything that members may have and wish to donate please, and am willing to state who donated it when the item goes up. Any old posters, a copy of Blues and Soul, tickets, record price lists etc would be great. In fact anything of interest that is SURPLUS to YOUR requirements. Even a pair of old baggies. I am willing to pay the postage to Greece. Or it could be sent to my Son in the U.K and he will bring it over when he visits us, if this is easier for you. The venue was attended by a few soul source members last year, we even had Doreen and Jodie Winstanley in for a boogie. Any members thinking of holidaying in Kefalonia this year will be made very welcome. I'm not begging, just asking. If you can help in any small way it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Tony T Bone. Please pm me if you can assist.

  20. Hi Pete, Nice to hear from you mate. Its the 'stick it up mister" version please. Cheers Tony.
  21. Hi Guys, Anyone got a spare copy in at least VG+ please. Not one of the ?new presses" on the bay. Price shipped to Australia please. Thanks in advance, Tony. P.M. me with details.
  22. Hi Guy's, Can anyone please help with a white demo reissue preferably in at least VG+ condition. Price including postage to Australia please. Thanks in advance, Tony.
  23. From what i gathered at the time there were only three personal copies pressed on the Bunky label. If J.M. reads the thread he may confirm that. I know Richard Searling had one in 1973 but that went awol, the second copy ???? and the one i found. Holy Grail is whats left now, surely, not what was pressed?? i Funny but i don't even own a record now. Moved on.
  24. SURELY the 'rarest' 45 has to be the mint unplayed copy of Nolan Chance on Bunky that i 'unearthed' in Australia 3 years ago for a fiver? I am taliking about rarity here NOT value. Only one J.M. knew of at the time i showed him it. Its tucked away in one of the U.K. collectors boxes now, who, i cant divulge. Value in todays auction.? ..who knows.
  25. Hi Guy's, It's been a while since i posted but can anyone please help out with a mint minus - vvg+ of Chairman of The Board, Bless Your Heart, on the surfside label. Thanks in advance. Tony.
