  1. G'Day, can anyone PLEASE tell me the title and artist of the record playing while the girl on the dancefloor is eating the burger and dancing. I think it's from Ginger's set and it sounds like i need you baby or need you want you. Got it from the d.v.d. and sounds great. Someone on the site must have been there and knows the song. Anyway here's hoping. Sue. OZ. K.T.F.
  2. Sounds like a lot of hard work and i ain't gonna blow my own trumpet but here's my first 3. Al Williams, i am nothing. Palmer. Al Gardner, sweet baby. Sepia. Appreciations, i can't hide it, Aware.

  4. Sorry Malc i was living in OZ then but would have been there for sure. Anyway as i live a stones throw from the beach the best plans are set in sand mate. As we say here a happy ship catches a fair breeze and as long as a second Unity do is in your mind then it will happen, just a matter of when not if eh?? I will keep an eye on the events thread, just let me know and hopefully it will be when we are over there, usually April and September for 2 weeks at a time. Will be guesting at the Notts Palais reunion on April 13th, are you going?? Have a happy, soulful new year. Regards Tony E. K.T.F.

  9. G'Day Malc, just looking at this thread and what should be sitting in front of me in a frame? Probably the only original poster left in good condition/ Red print on white poster paper. Just love the little caption " doin' it with soul ". Anyway great allnighters and glad i'm still on the scene although 12000 miles away. Be back in April to guest at the Notts Palais reunion, another fantastic 70's venue. Just thought you might like to know about the poster, have you got one ?? Stay soulful, Tony E. OZ. K.T.F.

  12. C'Mon Guy's, 32 sticky beaks and not a dickie bird from anyone. It's only a cheap goldmine press so surely, hopefully someone must have one. Anyone from Goldmine registered on this site ?? Thanks, Sue. OZ. K.T.F.
  13. Again looking for a copy of this goldmine issue after the last one went awol in the post between the U.K. and OZ. Should be a few out there, anyone got a spare please?? Thanks a lot, Sue, OZ. K.T.F.

  15. Saw a great movie last night called you, me and duprie, with Matt Dillon and Michael Douglas. There was a brilliant track in the background, only played about 20 seconds but the title was Gotta be some changes made, by the Staple Singers. Nothing listed on J.M. site but anyone know if it was ever released on single or L.P. ? Just another great sounding northern track featured in a movie. Sue. OZ. K.T.F.
  16. Should'nt that be Ruby ANDREWS. Defo would'nt call that an overplayed classic mate. Are you going to the Notts. Palais reunion next April 13th cos she's gonna be appearing live. Miss it at your peril. Stay soulful and keep an ear out for a lot of rubbish that IS played today and should stay in the record boxes. Tony T BONE Ozzy Invader. K.T.F.

  20. Anyone help with a nice copy of this, it's only a cheapie. Other side is Tell Her. Thanks, Sue. OZ.
  21. Looking for a nice copy of this at the right price just to keep the other half happy. Nice one played quite a bit in the mid 70's but not heard lately. Garrison 3005 label. Anyone? Thanks, Sue, OZ. K.T.F.
  22. Yep we'll second that, great character of the whole scene and a legend at the Skeggy weekenders. Get well soon our old mate. Stay soulful, Tony and Sue. Australia.
  23. Reckon the smoking ban and the fact people can now buy a carton of piss from the major supermarkets has had a lot to do with it... low numbers in pubs and bars i mean. Just to put my two cents worth into the debate, i am torn between the devil and the deep blue sea. On one side of the coin there is a huge soul scene going on in the U.K. and yes i would love to be a part of it for more than 1 months visit every year, then on the flip side i live in a fantastic country with great weather, plus my wife and i run our own monthly soul night here in Fremantle. We have been very fortunate to find a 120 year old venue thats so much like the old Casino in terms of atmosphere, smells etc. plus we have put 120% effort into making it what it is today with attendances around the 225 every month ie. right music policy, vinyl only and no ego deejay's to put a spanner in the works. We had John Manship over in May and he said he had'nt seen anything this good for years so we must be doing something right. Do it for the love of the scene and the music, not money, play the right mix of music and the punters will come. Good luck to anyone thinking of starting another gig. See you in April. Tony and Sue. Western Australia.
  24. Sorry to hear about the loss, if it was some idiot who thought the case contained drugs or whatever then finds out they have stolen a box of old records they just might offload em in the trent, lets hope not. Any scuba gear anyone?? Hope you get them all back Kev. Stay soulful, Tony E. OZ.
  25. Thanks Pete, most helpful. Sue. OZ.
