Tell you what Harry this really is a very interesting topic indeed and we all know there are members on here that will have 'rare' records in their collections. But you only have to look through John Manships 'a million dollars of rare soul' guide to see how few get the 5 star rarity rating. These are obviously 'super rare'. Stuff like Walter Wilson on wand and Billy Hines on wa-tusi are there and I'm sure there are no more than 4 or 5 known copies of these two. As for pricing them i suppose It's down to how much you want to own one of them. Look at the Frank Wilson, just what did make it so expensive in the first place ???? RARITY, nothing more nothing less, but i would'nt want to own it that bad to have paid over 23,000 pounds for it would you ?? Anyway mate stay soulful. ATB Tony, OZ. K.T.F.

Here's one for the serious memorabilia collector. Edwin Starr's original Ric Tic tour Bomber Jacket. Anyone willing to hazzard a guess as to what it might fetch and would you wear it, frame it or what ?? Imagine how you would feel walking into a soul night with it on, that is if anyone there would recognise it. A bit like wearing Buzz Aldrons space suit at a N.A.S.A reunion. As you probably saw in another thread we lost Willie Mitchell this week, they are slowly slippin' away ( not a pun by the way ) to that soul den in the sky. Long live the music. What an honour to have some of the remaining artists form Motown appearing live for us right here in sunny Perth, Western Australia in February. Fantastic lineup will include the Four Tops, Temptations, Mary Wilson, Marth Reeves and the Vandellas plus the Miracles along with the great Joan Osborne ( she's in the film, standing in the shadows of Motown ) and our very own Ian Moss and Jimmy Barnes who has just done a cover of the Jackie Wilson hit, Higher and Higher ( sounds great too and would'nt go amiss at any soul night ). While we respect the fact that there are very few of the original artists left, at least there will be a handfull of them to ogle over. This really is a very special event for us and follows the visit from Al Green later this month and the awesome performance by Betty Harris last year at the Flybynight Club, the venue for South West Soul. If your planning a holiday here then get onto the website and book your tickets ( google Motown event Perth ) Did'nt want to put this in the events thread cos it's a bit of soul history in the making, not an advert for the event.
