  1. Best I go straight into PANIC mode then Paul and sell up now !! Anyone for a cheap Al Williams, Betty Wilson, Honeybees, Lou Pride ?? and the list goes on !
  2. This is a topic that is discussed at length on many occasions over here in Australia and I'm sure it crops up many, many times in conversations in the U.K. as well. While we collectors who also deejay at many events are fortunate to have the collections of vinyl that continue to fill dancefloors every weekend, year in, year out, just who are going to be the deejay's of the future ? Is it going to be the odd Son or Daughter for that matter who will be allowed to get their hands on the ole' mans prized collection as surely, with the spiralling prices of the big ticket items the up and coming younger folk will hardly be in a position to buy them. I was discussing this with someone on the local radio station ( soul purpose ) the other week and, while he has a certain liking for some of the Northern sounds he admitted to never ever likely being in a position to buy enough to make the move behind the decks. I for one fully expect to continue running and attending soul nights with a passion as long as I have breath in my body, as do many thousands of other devotees out there, but it begs the question as to where we are going to attract enough younger folk to venture into the deejaying field. Yes there are a few more ' younger ' people attending soul nights as I have seen on my many trips back to old blighty, and we are now getting a few more here too, but.... they seem to have no interest besides having a good time on the dancefloor, and no, there is nothing wrong with that. The only younger deejay's, and I compare them to us 50 plus year olds, i have seen behind the decks are playing in the modern rooms, ( Prestatyn for example ). So as not to harp on, If you have the time I would appreciate any positive comments on the subject. Thanks and stay soulful. Tony, South West Soul, Fremantle, Western Australia.

  9. Kinga Hall Stoke on Trent. Probably the nearest in comparison you will ever get to the old Casino. And no it's not weekly but no-one will ever be able to run a nighter on a weekly basis nowaday's, people have too many other things to do and besides there are enough nighters running now if you want to go to one EVERY weekend. Wigan was unique. Hope you fine what your looking for elsewhere.
  10. Hiya Guy's, Can anyone please help with a mint minus copy of this. The issue with to whom it may concern on th flip side will do. Label is Bronco 2052. P.M. me with price and condition. Thanks in advance. Tony, OZ.
  11. Got mine from Craig Moerer, mint for 35 dollars. He has a stash of them.
  12. It was simply the best...simple as that. Kickbacks, bribes whatever. Survived 8 great years but I would have to question the excuse given to close it as ' the council wanting to extend the civic centre ' ?????? Restoration costs to bring the building up to standard would seem more like it. Only Mr. Marshall could answer that but sadly he's gone so it's just down to a guessing game. Lot's of opinions, that's just mine for what it's worth. Tony. OZ.
  13. Gotta say his other single released mid December will defo blow em away in the modern rooms this year. It's titled ' IT'S O.K. ' Tap it into you tube and have a listen, i think most folk will be impressed. Not sure it's available on vinyl tho.
  14. Anyone please help with this latin dancer ? It's not rare or expensive so there should be a few available. I will pay top manship book price for a M.M. copy but an excellent one might do. Please p.m. me with condition and price to OZ. Thanks in advance, Tony. OZ.
  15. Anyone please help with this on Revue ? It's not particularly rare so hopefully readily available. I might take an excellent copy if no M.M. comes up. Please p.m. me with condition and price to OZ. Thanks in advance. Tony. OZ.
  16. Any members remember the Rockacha which was based in a church hall in Barnet North London ? I have a mate here that went in the mid 60's and he was telling me it was frequented by mods and the deejay played early stuff from Stax and Motown. I was intrigued by the fact it was in the South and apparently running before the Twisted Wheel. Maybe it was one of Dave Godins haunts. Any positive comments will be passed on. Thanks for looking. Tony. OZ.
  17. Are you sure it's not them dreaded ' Wiggles " ??
  18. Anyone that went to the legendary alldayers at the Palais will know they were probably the best, but who actually started them and who were the main resident deejay's ? I think Kev Roberts had a hand in them but it was a long time ago and ??????? Anyone please !!
  19. Thanks but now have this one sorted, Happy new year. Tony.

  21. Perhaps Richard will come on here and explain why he decided on the titles !. He has no doubt done his homework as it can't have been cheap to set the whole thing up. So c'mon Richard let's have it from the horses mouth. I wish him all the best with his venture.
  22. Hiya guy's hope you had a great Xmas. Can anyone please help with at least a mint minus copy ( both sides ) of this motown classic ? Yes i know there are a couple on the bay but condition is important. Please p.m. me with condition and price to OZ. Thanks in advance. Tony. OZ.
