  3. I for one dont know what each and every dj plays up and down the country ( could be up too 400 in one nite ) and im pretty sure you dont either mr soultown
  4. Wouldnt it be good if promotors were blocked from adding an event on here , until they were prompted to press a yes or no button to say if there nite was ovo or not, then all the paying public would no and could make there own mind up
  5. PM SENT
  6. Pete who runs the local chippie also plays it
  7. Yes mate, thanks
  8. Next door to me has got a birthday party for there 5 year old, im sure ive just heard this booming out of the speakers
  9. intruders is a great dancer for sure, jonah played when double decking with me last nite, sounded great
  10. Soul Time 6pm - 8pm 24/09/2011 at www.afro-disiac.co.uk Tim Smithers and Mark Jones ( Bmth Railway Club duo ) join Tony Gordon playing the quality, soul music from the 60s / 70s
  11. To true Bearsy, your probably hear some you like and some you dont on afro-disiac internet radio this sat at 6 from the face for radio lol
  12. I think the Rare and underplayed scene, is so refreshing at the mo, lots of dj's digging deep and playing well thought out sets, such a mix of differing styles, i consider it a totally different scene and im glad it is, its like having a ball and chain removed, for me
  13. Theres a free Motown nite in totton / southampton this sat with 5 djs, see events for more details
  14. Cant really call it upfront northen soul , whats being played from a few of us down south ( Ghetto Soul etc ), the term rare and underplayed dance music suits it better, basically there are so many types of music being played, it would be difficult to put it under one umbrella, we use to incororate it with oldies at the Bmth Railway club, seemed to work with good attendances and not to much moaning, on the hole though, think it needs to be in a dark and seedy little room with like minded soulies
  15. Think thats what i paid also,
  16. Its been said many times, but to many dj's, playing out of the same box for the last 10 years has killed it for me, theres not a lot making the hairs on the back of my neck stick up much these days, to many promoters employing dj's with the same records as the dj before ( down south anyway ) to many people playing inferior bootlegs also doesnt help, how many people keep saying they wanna hear something different, but when it comes to it, they dont turn up at the do's that offer this.
  17. See you played my anthem Bri, heard the place was rocking
  18. Farnborough is in Hampshire, last time i looked
  19. Just to clarify things, the railway club had one promoter,Mark ( jonah ) jones, who holds no grudges and attended the last allnighter before this one and was also down to come to this one, but due to his other half having to work, he had to do baby sitting duties, hope that sets the record straight
  20. No they didnt Sally, there were 5 from bmth / soton and all those were also at the Bmth niter, think a few would have gone to soul shoes which was on the Sat, im suprised also that the some many djs on the south coast didnt turn up to have a listen / dance, because there wasnt anything else on locally, so that old chestnut about , i cant make it as im booked somewhere else lol
  21. Let it all out Dave, dont want you getting a migraine lol
  22. Think some of the souths promoters tend not to support, each others do's and tend to have loyal followers that dont seem to want to venture to the other local do.s for whatever reason and to say what has been said before, most want to hear oldies all night and have a chin wag with folks they know, at the end of the day, thats what choice gives us, still think folk are scared off by the term rare, even though there were loads of oldies played on the said night, thought it was the perfect mix myself
