  1. kolla, is that the lovely pair of pistols you have that I've heard people comment on about you on your pic?
  2. slightly off on a wild tangent but keeping with the doddgy lyrics theme...my fave is good old Jackie Wilson and one of my all time faves 'I've Lost You' where in the fade out he sings that most beloved of all romantic lines..."I'm gonna kiss you in the morning where the sun don't shine.." Jackie, you old romantic!!!!
  3. Oi! And I did a special 'weepie' trading card for you you rotten sod! It's like the last night at Wigan all over again......all joking apart I'm glad your back mate and look forward to having even more in-depth discussions (lol) via the marvel of the internet.
  4. For the love of God I look young!!! The headband and vest were such a good move Yes, that's TheBigO when I was known as TheThinO and who said they didn't work back then??!!!
  5. As stated earlier a very hard one to whittle down in just a few short lines. However for me it was sat around Taffy's flat and hearing Frankie Valli's 'You Ready Now' for the first time - BANG! CRASH! WALLOP! I saw the light and from then on it was Northern Soul all the way, with similar experiences along the way that led me into Modern, Crossover, Funk etc etc. But for me the first time was hearing that record....thinking of which I'm going to spin it at the next Plinston because I've not heard it out in ages!
  6. It's Sean's trading card, it's turned you hasn't it?!? Poor Alison
  7. The sound system is paramount to any venue for a good sound and that's why you can see our cuddly sound man Paul running up to the stage all night tweaking and fiddling with his knobs (!!!) This promoting lark is a damm sight harder and stressful than most realise!
  8. Sadly you'd need cinemascope to video tape my body now Also check out the trading card of Sean Chapman I've posted elsewhere.
  9. I liked the tag 'now high on the waist line and low on the hairline' Been looking into your eyes Johnny and now finding I am strangely attrated to you...the thought of your pert wet lips, opening slightly, inviting as I lean forward......DAMM, Got to stop looking at the eyes :o
  10. Sure as hell anit gonna be me as my waist line and my age are now exactly the same
  11. Too true Mick! The whole scenes gone mad as far as prices are concerned and the days of buying blind in bulk are long gone (much like the days of walking into Davids Bookshop after a local butchers off-loaded a huge box of UK demos etc etc - remember?) Now I'm 40 next week :o so hopfully the boys have been in touch for a surprise party mate - or knowing Taff more than likely they haven't
  12. Please GOD the 69 Club isn't a clue Mick :o What about the Castaway Club or the RAF Cardington Do's where Taff's Ex wasn't backward in coming forward to slap a few girlies I remember you spinning quite a few Detroit goodies that weren't well known at the time and have now gone on to be classics - much like you you old Jesus looking Mexican head you
  13. What ever ended up being the truth about the multi coloured demo/issue(?) that turned up in the early 80's. remember reading about it in Steve Gaunoris excellent 'Blackbeat' mag and the general feeling was it was real one but heard nothing since. Anyone help?
  14. The guy with the tracksuit and spinning with the doddgy hair is Grahams brother and another whose left the scene I belivie. Graham has a photo collection, and his brother if memory serves right, to die for with 100s of the Casino and all the other venues as well. The girl I remember as I was trying to pull her for a friend. Sadly my stunning looks failed me :-( and she told me to go carry out a sexual act on myself :-O We used to hang around with Graham and also the Scottish crew, Wullie et all, and all met up every weekend. Where the hell did the time go? Where did all my friends go?
  15. Obviously the good looking one - DOH! That's me and the crew at the front of the stage on the right, Grey Spencers Bowies, Addias black vest and BAD headband! If you look real close you can see me purchasing the Brooks Brothers in the background and thinking is £90 worth it or not. How times change, lol. They also cut me, Nina and Jon Downings shuffling to 'There Was A Time' just as we go into our 'Come Dancing' routine - GUTTER!!!! That really was a great night and anther club sadly missed. Oh, by the way I'd left my then wife in a hospital bed with a punctured lung to attend so don't ever say I don't love me Soul (we are now divorced surprisingly!)
  16. OOOOOH THAT HURTS!!! That's why they used to call me, amongst other things, The Colonel, in those days due to sweat band under arm! Ah, those were the days and I would like to add that I'd done my leg in and hence why I was dancing like Mischief does today!!!!! Sadly many of those on that film are no longer with us but it is nice to dig it out and see Adam with hair!!!!
  17. When you next see Scouse tell him Jenny (of Jenny & Nina fame) says Hi as we were only talking about him the other day! On the subject of St Ives went to a recent reunion and had to chuckle at our friend, who shall remain nameless, going on about how he went every week, never missed one and all those memories etc etc. He then stated that he remembered most the huge tree and massive roundabout at the entrance to the venue...how we laughed as we pulled up and there was this twig stuck in the middle of a roundish hump in the middle of the road! Through the laughter we heard him mumble that 'f**k me the drugs must have been better than I remember back in those days' - cue manic laughing from everyone.
  18. If you see Mick tell him Neil from Letchworth says hello and where the hell have you been! Tell him I'd love to see him down at the Plinston where many if not all the old faces still gather. Peanuts & Karen are sadly missed, as is the Mallett!
  19. What about the Howard mallett in Cambridge? Fantastic soul club, great people (where are you now Penut & Karen and Mick warwick???) Vastly underated
  20. That shirt was a present from my muvver BITCH!
  21. I heard Big O like's a bit of cross over sorry come to think of it that was cross dressing.. Oi Michief you cheeky bugger! Crossover is what's happend to you and Sean as I hear you've crossed over to bat for the other side :-O Anyway have to rush home to rip the wife's knickers off.......bloody elastic is killing me and is chaffing my inner thigh!
  22. From what I understand Mischief your wife makes a point of being as far away from you when your dancing as a matter of principal anyway....lol
  23. Agree with Dave on this. Come on people LIGHTEN UP! Each to their own and there's plenty of room on the scene for all styles, be that oldies, newies, Modern and so on. We don't need to be fueling civil war.
  24. I will try and have it on Cd for you at the next plinston should you find yourself t our humble home matey
  25. Is this a good time to mention my new classes: 'How To Bitch and Moan Northern Style(ee)' No? I'll get my hat
