  1. All the online reviews have been very positive so far. Im looking forward to see if BBC's Mark K reviews it
  2. Never seen a 7" let alone heard of one, only the 12". Must be rare
  3. Ditto on the Jimmy Robbins! A belting slab of filthy Soul/R&B you'd be hard to find better. Right up there with AC Reed etc
  4. Well I stand open mouthed as I didn't know Melbas versions either but having said that Patti still edges it for me, especially if its Tom Moultons mix. Very happy sweat drenched wide eyed nights spent spinning and dipping to her in the days when iIcould do all that without risking a cardiac arrest and Steve 'The Silver Soul Fox' G had not a trace of the Schofield upon his flowing locks :-)
  5. Arthur is GOD! Check out the stunning unissued (and frankly WTF were they thinking!) Stay By Me - Soul as deep as you like and then some. Happy memories of me and Randy waxing lyrical about this, the man and Maxine!
  6. Its not up yet but you can catch it here https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04kzz5r Quote: And ahead of the release of a new film about Northern Soul we explore its resurgence amongst fans young and old.
  7. Well North Herts & Beds are all set to support the film and Elaine. The Broadway Cinema only has 11 tickets left for October 19th and the previous 2 nights are now sold out and I hear that Geoff ware and Hammies Bedford showing is heading that way already plus theres a do on after.
  8. Flynny those are class!
  9. Letchworth showing it on 17-19 Shaun W and thats about an hour max up the A1 from Peterborough
  10. My local The Broadway Cinema in Letchworth have now booked it for 3 nights starting Oct 17th thru to the 19th after i called them up. Its worth having a word with your cinema as it does work
  11. I've had my Doc Martin shoes for 22 years and they are worn in nicely (to the point where I've had to superglue and sticky tape them together) and have no problem dancing in them. As any dancer will agree once you've broken in your dancing shoes they stay with you until the bitter end.
  12. UPDATE: Just heard that the Broadway Cinema in Letchworth will be screening it from Oct 17th-19th. Full details when I have them as the message they left me was a little hard to hear. Wahoo
  13. Thanks Mark for the nod in right direction as been searching for this, one very happy soon to be 50 year old! Ordered and ready to hit the kitchen floor as soon as it lands on the mat.
  14. Lst one I saw last year was at £300 Pottsy, haven't seen it listed for ages. Great belting toon btw
  15. Usual quality Dave I see. And as usual bloody broke! Thank you LOVE that Johnny Lemac toon!!!!
  16. I'm looking forward to your new venture Leonardo as at least it will give us all somewhere to gather to moan endlessly about anything really, preferably if its something we've not seen, attended or heard. Good work fella Seriously as a fellow promoter hats off to you because it is bloody hard especially with upfront venues, shall see you for bad dancing on the night
  17. Currently one is grooving to the utter bewilderment of his 11 year old daughter to the unissued David (Ruffin) album purchased via the medium of the silver disc. In a word AWESOME! Now excuse me I need to get back to gliding across the kitchen floor.......
  18. That Sapphire track is a toon! Thanks for highlighting that guys, straight off to chase it down.
  19. well I was thinking we write to the BBC and attempt to have live TV debates during the Scottish referendum televised debates and thus guarantee a wider audience who will have no understanding what the hell is going on, what the arguments are about, try to pick through the disinformation and rabid comments etc....oh and then when the referendum debate lot have finished with all that we discuss the film lol
  20. My kids have made a good point - why are people slagging off a film that they've not seen yet?? Surely they need to see it first to make judgement otherwise its the Emperors new Clothes? Fair point. Lets see the film then everyone is entitled to their opinion based on what they've seen.
  21. Winnie you've got it mate! The answer to ensure that the masses come to see the film!!! You in said Spiderman costume helping the young lad escape the shithole he lives in whilst trying to reveal the real identity of the group under the paper cover cruelly hidden from the masses! I can see it now 'Spiderman vs the Soul Police - this time its personal!'
  22. TOON! Ordered both :-) How come we've never met whilst crate digging at Hymies or the Record Co-Op with Duggie and his bad toupee!!!
  23. Slightly easier to badger for us as Elaine was a local for a while and given Taffy was consultant on some of the casino scenes Ian. Plus I'm needing it big screen to see if I can see my wonderful dancing in the shadows of said scenes, given eyes not what they used to be Trot on....
  24. Ive just spoken with the Boroadway Cinema in Letchworth and have emailed them the details of the film etc but who is distributing it? They are happy to screen it if interest is there etc and to keep costs as low as possible but I think it would help if Soulies in the local area emailed to confirm the interest. Email is jason.valentine@letchworth.com
  25. if you search Facebook Barbara St Clair and the shadows thats her and features live video performing in the 90's (I think). She died of a brain tumour but certainly you should be able to FB the band members as I assume R. Davis is the same one who wrote Teacherman.
