  1. Fantastic! As with all Grapevine releases quality all the way and most defo on my shopping list!! Well done to all concerned.
  2. I heard it via a Manship tape (which i still have) in the mid 80's and it blew me away then! Class record.
  3. Ah, Mr JOT seeing your aviator reminds me of an old school boy joke - why did little weed grow a lot - because Bill and Ben flob a lot!!! Jock0, I know it was a tongue in cheek (on the face) jibe and yes, I have learnt much at the knee of Randy, Taffy and others. That said some new found Jazz Funk friends are still smiling at some of the 'new' Modern toons we are spinning as they are all old Caister biggies. Funny how things crossover
  4. Know how hubby feels Alison - great record but OH MY GOD what a price. Won't be long before Northern/Modern Soul is out of the reach of most and in the hands of a lucky few :-(
  5. Hang on I'm a Southern Boy Jocko :-O That siad it's an old Adam spin from the 80's if memory serves right, or was it Robin Salter??? The perils of old age :-(
  6. Was it 'Touching and caring'?
  7. This is why I shouldn't reply to postings whilst the kids are screaming at me!!! I'll be out of hiding soon Mr Ner-Ner Man
  8. Hmm, didn't she also write that as well Pete??? Winnie - I have seen you coverting my lovely shirts and hence on my trip Stateside this year i will purchase you one so that you may also 'feel the love' (or anthing else BIG boy ) you desire Just confirmed she DID write it Pete, so nah-nah-nah to you
  9. Remember seeing this and still have it on video, but the ending has been taped over which is just as well as there is an attempted rape!!! At the time this caused a flood of letters to Echoes, all of which I have in the scrapbooks along with loads of other stuff, and the play featured many actors who later went on to find fame, as stated, including Tara Fitzgerald. Debbie Horsfield did write Cutting It as well and featured the Ritz if memory serves right in an episode of that drama. For those looking for a decent insight into our twilight world - don't bother! For those looking for light entertainment drama, it's OK. * By the way, real soulies were used as I used to dance with the geezer with the tattoo on his back that does the back flip at Wigan Tiff's amongst other places.
  10. Hmm, could be right as I didn't pull mine out the box to checkagain.
  11. Agree with you Pete - sexy black vinyl for me everytime, preferably in the form of a tight dress and thigh boots and on the missus No, if it's not available on vinyl then a CD is fine, doesn't look as sexy but it's the music that is all important.
  12. Defo! If a few more venues had CD decks as well there would be no need to cut the acetates :-)
  13. Yep, a Rod Dearlove release from the 90's and what a bliding 12" it is too. yet to have it's true quality appreciated by the masses. Value wise, between £20-40
  14. Had a few people ask what the situation is re: membership to the 6T's Mafia and entry into the Plinston. So, to clear things up here is what we are doing: At the moment we are keeping the present system in place, that is, if you do or do not have a 6T's Mafia membership card you can still get into any of our events. We are doing this because there are still loads of soulies that still can't be arsed to send a SAE to get a free membership from us! This will stay in place for another 6 months or so. However..... Over the next 6-8 months we are asking everyone, and we mean EVERYONE, to apply or register for membership to the club. This is because a) we can keep in contact with everyone; it helps to control entry into the club and c) we WILL at some time in the near future be hosting MEMBERS ONLY events, including joint allnighters. So, if you want to continue to enjoy the club then be sure that you see the girls on the door or send a SAE to: NH 6T's Mafia, 29 Vicarage Close, Arlesey, Beds. SG15 6XH. See you all on SATURDAY 19th March for another excellent night with Gary Belcher, Mr Mischief and the lovely Gavin Page guesting!!
  15. The Howard Mallett! What a great club that was - Mick, Karen, Peanuts, Tony behind the decks, sweat, good times. Where did it all go???
  16. Mr One-Trout! Again, you attack my dapper dress. I am truly hurt and will have to issue a Trading card in your honour as soon as I can. Now, I was going to ask if Tim was dancing to 'Mullet on the dancefloor?' by Ms Ellis-Bexter (is this Kev in drag?)last staurday, seeing as his fine locks are getting that way. Ady, I could mention the dancing Gopher at the Dome that night, if you can remember, but as I like you I won't!!!!
  17. and did we notice the film also has one Mrs Bucket of sitcom fame in it as well?!? I love this film, and 'Up The Junction' amongst others. Love all of Lulu's stuff and sometimes like to dress as her in my bedroom and...ooops, too much info there I think!
  18. Got to have with that dancing style
  19. Alison, Taffy, could he have been listening too 'I wish I Could Dance' by Archie Bell, 'My 2 left feet' by Hal Miller, 'For F**k sakes can you learn to..Dance, Dance, Dance' by The causeleers on the unissued studio acetate??
  20. oooh how could you Chav man!!! I will see ya tomorrow and smack you
  21. Thanks for the imput JOT. His dancing is one thing - his hair style an entirely new topic all together!!!!
  22. Taffy- that hurts mate!!! We minority groups need to stick together - you git! :-)))
  23. Whilst at the Luton soul night I came across an aged man trying to stumble and slip-n-slide in time with the soulful platter on offer. I was all for escorting him off the floor and back to his warm bed at the old peoples home but was shocked to see that it was in fact one Mr Tim Brown, owner of some mighty fine 45's!! This was the look on my face at the time! So, my question is 2 fold: firstly, where the hell did he learn to 'dance' (and note the use of said word is for illustrative purposes only) and 2) is the size of your original collection directly in proportion to your ability to 'dance' (see note above) like a complete and total grandad (thought the emotive I used wasn't in keeping with the topic) I await enlightment from the soul police
  24. The scene will still be arguing needlessly about what amounts to nothing more than fluff on the belly button of Souldom, that's where we will be. Altzimers in the future, I've got that now as there loads of stuff on the shelves I don't remember buying
  25. F**k me, your welsh!!! R U the only Table dancing Welsh DJ we have on the scene??? New thread....are the Welsh acceptable on the scene???
