  1. OI! One Trout! (Again) - I cant belivie you'd bad mouth my wonderful and colourful shirts as it's obviously the only bright thing you have in your life, and I am excluding the lovely Alison here as she is in a class of her own - sadly not a dancing class 'cause god love her she needs one! - no, i will of course be expecting a full and frank apology from you on bended knee, main hall, next Modern By Moonlight! Failing that another wonderful CD would be really nice, thank you

    swindon soul night

Not so sure Jon! Isnt the one on the left called Licensed Bar, the one in the middle Car parking and the one on the far right is obviously very very chuffed with himself as he's got a laaaaaaaaaaaaddddddddddddddy sorted out for the 9th of July???
  6. I cant understand why this is going for this sort of money, or many things at the moment for that matter! I brought this, along with friends locally, when it came out from Anderson for a £5, alongside Timeless Legend etc and to see what people are paying for them just makes me think the world is really a crazy place!!! That said, I wish I hadn't sold everything to Mr Brown in 1990 now
  7. Yes, a book, great idea and one myself and the lads around here have been talking about for some time. That way people would understand the real Northern Soul world and be shocked to discover that it wasn't just Wigan Casino and the Mecca and that the South and the Midlands played a HUGE part in the development of the scene and kept the faith through the long dark nights of the 80's and early 90's!
  8. Have loved the photos mate and you and I have chatted long and hard about those glory days. Like many who thought it would never end I was too buy keeping at it and discovering and dancing to the soul to take photos (only a handful) and your pics have been so important to me and others so, Jon Buck, you get my TOP MAN award. * Please God you've got none at drummons with Jane in the rubber
  9. Are they French Steve? Taffy and I have noticed a strange thing going on between french bidders recently, silly money being bid and they never pay! Some weird f***ed up NF Nazi shite?????
  10. I take it you mean with the Temp's?

    jenny from baldock

No think it is Jenny and shall call her to confirm. If my aging eyes are right that's Nina in the background and both of the ladies used to dance in those ballet shoes, I should know cause so did I
  12. Oi! One Trout, you Modern loving ponce!!!! Is this quote another veiled attack on my wonderful sharp and soon to be appreciated by the fashion police dress sense, namely my lovely line in hip-to-the-tip shirts????!!! No? Oh, forget I said that then
  13. TheBigO

    jenny from baldock

    Yep that's her!
  14. I've mentioned this elsewhere but one of our members has emailed me to say that the Travel Lodge (?) at the Baldock Services are offering cheap rooms at £10 for the night!! So, if you are travelling it might be worth checking it out. That's all the details I have at the moment as I've filed the email and can't bloody find it now

    another two

    That's them defo!
  16. Willie, Stuart, Nina, Jenny and I all used to dance together at the Pier in Morecombe and yes, Willie had grace and style and we all were lovers of the knock-out high kick! (I also sent some guy sparko in the Starlight room whilst hitting the beat dead on!) Sadly a lot of the old ways have gone or are dead, lots of clapping, spins, kicks etc etc. The age factor I'm afraid :-(
  17. Steve, you know I never take the mick - now where's a decent photo of you for the Trading card????
  18. See Johnny's on a promise then!!! (With Alison obviously, NOT Steve - or then again)
  19. check out 'Plinston Modern' thread in events section, has mine, Taffys and Nathans spins there.
  20. Alison, I see you looked a little diffeent in the old days according to your avitor - who knew JOT would have such an effect on you!
  21. That bloody Taffy's done it to me again!!!! Plays me a toon, I fall in love with it and now every buggers after it :-(
  22. The only info I have to hand is that Taff's spinning (groan!) it at the moment and I want it!!!
  23. In my experience fees do run from £0 to £150, depending on the name and where they are coming from etc etc. We are about to sort out an alldayer at the Plinston for next year so I'm also number crunching, depressing reading isn't it :-)))

    rick

Love to see the pic mate. Any idea where he is now? It's not till you see the photios that you understand how many of us have just vanished off the face of the earth, sad really.
  25. It's no way a £70 record. I know there are loads of them around £25-30 tops. Another example of crazy prices for 'common' records! Miff, I have it at £33 inc p&p if you want it
