Certain I heard this first via John Vincent along with other great toons from the man, inc' Walter & Sisters and its an acetate only release that was in the collection of a local Bedford Soulie I used to see reguarly in the 80s, the instrumental was 'The Dance Track' I am sure, not the vocal.

Not saying its not the going rate Marc, just that I'd missed one recently for the same price as JM was selling at. Top toon though.

Arthur Miles - Trippin' On Your Love
Threre can be but one Highlander and thats the Staple Singers BUT, for me and the Missus, the next best is Arthur and used to spin it all the time when first released, indeed I belivie that Jon Buck used to plug it as the Drummond events in London also (was this where I first heard it???) Also Jane thinks of it as 'our tune' so beware Steve with your dance version!!!!! (although you could be our Simon Bates any time you like X)

Stomping Ladies Dance Or Is It Strictly For The Guys?
On a serious note Steve is right, down Sarf its known as shuffling and the 2 finest examples of the art in mind were Nina and Jenny Knight, a joy to watch

Is that Jane Clarke at the bottom? Looooong story about how she and Dave P ended up together and haven't seen her since she came to stay with me in 1990(?) for a week or so and then just vanished and left the country, leaving me a cryptic note(!) Anyone know where she is now????

What a night that was and what memories! Thats me on the left in my Add'y vest that Rob was prone to nicking off me halfway throught the night at just about every nighter we went too!!!!!! The 80's were the glory days for us all, man we could dance and I will aways think of Robs spins and his swan dives when i see pics of those days (even those swan dives where he ended up on his head!!!) RIP old friend

Dave Petit
Hi, haven't seen Dave for a good few years but last I heard he was an Estate Agent locally so that might be your best bet, to do a search and see what comes up.

History Of A Record?
Certainly spun in the mid 80's at Stafford as went straight on my wants list Paul but not sure if it was spun prior to that at any major venues. I wait to find out along with you. By the way still a cracking toon!

Performing Rights
Its a bloody nightmare trying to work it all out, I've always paid the venue and have pointed out the records we play are all from obscure sources etc and when pushed have suggested Kent, Grapevine etc as being the ones who should recieve anything.

Mike Terry
Now this is a VERY deep well to drink from, the man (alongside Silky Hargreaves if memory serves right) played of 100s of records (didn't they let Silky just stand in and allowed the credit to go to Mike?) but a few that tickle my aging old feet still are (and all non-Motown): Marge Little - love Finds a way Girls are out to get you -The Fascinations What can I do- Lorraine Chandler I can take care of myself - Gene Chandler Put a dime on D9 - Rotations I cant hide it - Appreciations Make a change - Johnny Rogers Thats what you do to me - Deon Jackson to name but a few that his sax (or Silky's?) has graced. Theres a great article in Theres That Beat mag which would give you a whole heap of toons to pull from.
