    who's that lady

If I am not mistaken thats Jane Clarke from Baldock, part of the Letchworth crew! Moved to the States and not seeen or heard from her since
  2. Thanks Grant, an issue too! Thanks for all the help guys, appreciated
  3. Kenny NO ONE EVER takes notice of me except you, fancy a date I thought it would be in this region, just a hard one to locate a price on.
  4. Thanks Pete, at least I have an idea now.
  5. OI! Backdoor! What is it with you and the records I am either after or selling (Inspirations 70s take for example!) Both sides are class (and not bad at all considering they are a C&W act) and NO WAY are you getting it for £30.....£31 maybe Seriously though does anyone have an idea of price as apart from Gingers only issue I have never ever seen one for sale since I got mine back in the early 80s. Anyone?
  6. Whats the current rate for a white test pressing of the Allen Sisters 'Downtown Crowd' please. Thinning the collection out so need an idea as you never see it listed. TOON!
  7. wasnt this this Drek Jamesons 'Jamesons people' or something similar for BBC 2? I have it on tape along with a crap load of other stuff from the 80s I recorded.
  8. For me its always Soul Bros 6 'I'll Be Loving You', pure class, emotional and a record I always spin for all our friends who didn't make it (Linda, Rob K, Del etc) Many a teardrop falls during the course of the toon.

    adam&horace

Was this taken at Heaven's??? How pleased is Ady Travolta to see Adam
  10. OOOh rare pic Jon of our Reg - theres no sign of a copy of his book in his hand
  11. And that James is a well thought out reply! Summed up nicely. I agree with you 100%, I think too many people have closed ears when it comes to some of the great new stuff coming out of Europe and the States at the moment, be it KGF or the Goddess that is Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings. Its always been that way and always will be I think but as long as its great soulful music who cares what era it comes from, I dont. Some of the new release Southern Soul released in the last 2 years is TOPS! Anyway, returning to my bunker now
  12. 14. F**K me is that a young Charlie Frost 4th right???? A legend for my generation and an all round top bloke! The Magnum tash is a bit worrying, much like Taffs high waisters!!!!!
  15. In memory serves correct, and Taff should be able to verify, the only film inside the Casino that I know of was taken by Tom Hassett from Letchworth during the filming of This England doc during the breaks when the serious dancers took to the floor again after the cameras were off. Not sure where Tom or that film now are!
  16. looks like a good un too! Covers it all from the Latin Jazz thru Bugulu Salsa etc etc over 5 weeks. Hit the bongo baby!
  17. Morning all, 9pm tonight, Friday, BBC 4 have a documentary starting tracing Latin music in the USA thru the decades. Not sure if posted B4 but orth noting
  18. Pete when you read this you will find you have mail! Couldn't belivie it when I read your thread, I have known Fingers for many years and we have spent many a happy hour huddled over a record box around mine when he should have been at business clients in the past. Haven't been in touch with him the past year or so (family gets in the way) but I wanted to underline what's already been said, namely he's one of the scene's and lifes good guys with a generous heart and spirit and he too has done me favours in the past that I now gladly return. If you dont know him but can spare anything do so as people like Fingers are few and far between, Johnny if your reading this Jane and I send our love and keep your head up mate, Pete, well done, the spirt of Xmas is alive and well!
  19. Thanks for the heads up Godzilla on the toon, was about to post the same question! Breaking has come a long way since the early days thats for sure and some of these crews are outstanding! I attended the Playstation breaking championships way back in the early 90's and the moves there were unreal, but these guys have some very very slick breaks. On the subject of great dance moves, and not Breakers, but have always loved these guys and their Lindy Hop, Class!!!!! Reminds me of us lot at Morecombe, Manchester etc in the old days....
  20. Thats the same one Pete - Thats not the way to love, both on Cloud and Capitol, think Benji uploaded a scan here somewghere didnt he????
  21. Great toon and a biggie from the 90's, also a version with different lyrics by La Reine La Mar on Cloud, both very obscure and both just superb. Of the 2 I've seen more of Marions release than La Reine. Not much info on either of the ladies either!
  22. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kno49R5zBeM There you go, good cover of a great toon
  23. Certainly John spun at the lengendary Morecombe Pier allnighters early 80s and at venues out and about b4 that, have a tape where he introduces the instru' as 'The Dance Track' but certainly Keb is the first I remember spinning the vocal. Johns tastes at the time were superb and many a sound he spun ended up on my Wants, only just got a Walter & Sisters after almost 26 yrs of searching!!!
