Couldn't agree more - played it at the Brighouse Ritz 2 months back and it went down a storm Love this tune ; remember it was available in all sorts of Co-Ops and similar in the deleted cheap racks and I used to sell them at the Pendulum [ Deansgate version ] in Manchester [ together with Los Canarios and other such ' beauties ' ]. Happy days !

I've been ' putting out ' a series of flyers for my Soul Night for 13 years now, all of them UK demos. Copied both sides of course. I have a determined bunch of friends / soulies who collect these now ! The most recent one is the one that has probably been most in-demand [ other than Darrell B. on yellow London [ O.T.D.T.Y.H. ], which was the first 'issue' in the series in 2002 ]. This most recent one is the Invitations, [ W.W.W.M.B. ] on a r/w Stateside. So I agree, as it seems do my ' collectors ' ; there is nothing more beautiful than a r/w Stateside, in an original proper and pristine royal blue bag. I.M. (not so humble ) O.,.......of course.

That is as in a record that jumps, or skates to the end, or sticks in the same groove.......I've had all 3 in the last 2 years, some quality tunes too, and Dr Pete Smith has fixed them for me each time. He's got the eyesight, magnifier, and tools to do it, so if you're in the same boat, I'd seriously consider giving him a chance to fix it for you. He obviously can't guarantee the outcome, but he's batting 3 for 3 on mine so far so I'm a very satisfied customer. Pity about the impenetrable Wolverhampton accent, but nobody's perfect eh ? This is entirely unsolicited from Pete, just thought I'd share.

I keep dipping in and out of this thread, but probably haven't gone thro every post line by line, so hope I not just repeating an earlier post here.... ....but I am not getting what the issue is here. At all. I've explained my view, on this before. But also stressed I don't want to argue with anyone about rights and wrongs. All I'm interested in is explain to anyone what I think, if of course they're interested, or want to know. I don't ever want to ' convert ' or persuade anyone. Equally, I'm never going to budge in my view and approach. Why doesn't everyone leave it at that ? Announce what your policy is, if anyone challenges you explain why you will / won't play Frank Wilson, but basically let the boys and girls who attend soul events make their own minds up. [ a.k.a. 'live and let live ' etc etc ( and loads of other clichés) ] Happy New Year pete

well if you take a risk, it won't always come off [ risk = uncertainty ] but if it works, and the buzz level increases, sometimes with a roar of approval, [ alright sometimes a murmur of approval ], then it def makes it worthwhile and if it doesn't work, wait till the tumbleweeds have blown over the dance floor and move on all in M.H.O of course pete
