  5. You should be able to get in touch with your local delivery office and tell them exactly which names you wish mail to be delivered to at your address,it is the managers' responsibility to ensure that a notice is put on the correct sorting frame detailing this.Hope this helps.
  6. Come along to the Grand Central at Skegness mate you'll hear plenty getting played there ;-)
  7. FRANKIE CROCKER -A TON OF DYNAMITE SOUL ON WAX - MR DAY WORLD COLUMN - SO IS THE SUN SAXI RUSSELL - PHYSCADELIC SOUL BITS 'N' PIECES - KEEP ON RUNNING AWAY THERE'S FIVE THAT IMMEDIATELY SPRING TO MIND AND THEY'RE ALL IN MY COLLECTION
  8. I love Northern Soul but now prefer the modern scene.I still dj at the Grand Central playing mainly 70s with the odd oldie thrown in and the odd modern sound but I personally need to hear new, uplifting sounds instead of going to the same venues to listen to the same sounds all the time (and I know there are loads of undiscovered oldies out there). To me a modern room is a breath of fresh air with people dancing all night and not just waiting to hear the ones they like before they get off their backsides. We have been to weekenders where friends who are staunch oldies fans have come into the modern room because the atmosphere is much better than "the flat"atmosphere in the main room(their words not mine). As stated in a previous post this isn't a debate or comparison between the scenes just my opinion and you don't find many egos in the modern room either.I'm not sure that I agree with 2 roomed venues(unless it's a weekender)as that is trying to mix two totally seperate scenes and I think there is plenty of room for all genres of our wonderful music scene. Not sure how big the modern scene is but I do believe that the NS scene is slowly dying a death.
  9. Heard Marvin Gaye - come get to this in Wickes in Boston yesterday, was just leaving but decided to have another browse until it had finished
  10. My wife and I had booked a one bedroomed apartment (with a double sofa bed in the lounge) for the Brid weekender, unfortunately because of health problems we are unable to go.The apartment is situated in "The Crescent" which is a delightful area close to the harbour and about a 10 minute walk from the Spa venue. The cost for the weekend is £280 of which we have paid a £50 deposit. Here is the link address for the accomodation https://www.seagullsatbridlington.co.uk / so that you can have a look.If you are interested please pm me as we are trying to get a replacement before we surrender it(I think she has a waiting list). If four people go for it then it only works out at £70 each and it's well worth that.
  11. My early set in the Modern Room at the Skegness Weekender (friday) Rahsaan Patterson -Wherever you are (silks old school mix ) Beverlei Brown - Somebody knows how you feel (the syndicate remix) R Kelly - Step in the name of love - remix (radio edit ) Solo - Blowin' my mind (lp version ) Zhane - Hey mr dj (original mix ) Terry Ronald - What the child needs (from the hip 7" ) Drizabone - Brightest Star ( album version) Sunburst Band - Everyday (joey negro edit ) Westcoast Soulstars - Because of you(synth & strings edit ) Cool Million feat Kenny Thomas - Without your love (robs old skool slide) Incognito - Step Aside (dimitri from paris & dj meme remix) Bah Samba feat The Fatback Band - Let the drums speak (phil asher's restless soul mix)
  12. Just a quick point regarding insurance, can you imagine the queue if royal mail paid compensation cart blanche, all kinds of toerags would jump on the bandwagon with false claims. Not sure how the claiming system works as I have never had the problem but as a responsible company then I would think that they should be quite good.Registered items from most countries aren't recognised here as there is no trail as such that Royal Mail can follow and the barcodes don't show up.There was a time when they would replace the barcodes with new ones but as you can imagine with the amount of packets that now come through this is too labour intensive and time consuming, not sure whether foreign countries adopt the same policy.
  13. Definitely think it's Ramsey Lewis but you might have to trawl through youtube to find it
  14. I bought Rita & The Tiaras on Dore for a fiver from a Notts Palais all dayer and swapped it for a beatles lp,doh !
  15. ANYONE NEEDING ACCOMODATION FOR THE BRID WEEKENDER FOLLOW THIS LINK https://hotelswallow.com/ OR JUST GO TO THE SITE AND THERE IS A SELF CONTAINED STUDIO FLAT IN A VERY CENTRAL POSITION.UNFORTUNATELY WE CAN NO LONGER STAY THERE SO IT IS UP FOR GRABS.
  16. There's three on the bay at the minute
  17. I remember my mate sitting under a table and crying his eyes out as he was coming down from doing a bomber at an all dayer, thanks George you put me off drugs for life The Palais was also the place that I bought Rita and the Tiaras - Gone With The Wind on Dore for a fiver which I gave away a few years later and the recipient sold it and went to Corfu for a holiday with her boyfriend with the proceeds Oh the memories, the painful memories
  18. Hi I will take the Major Harris off your hands if you still have it please, tried to pm ya but it wouldn't send for some reason, regards Chris

  20. Can't see the problem if the seller is advertising it as such,so long as any buyer knows what he or she is buying,I don't have any myself but someone who wants a track and can't afford the original would probably be pleased to have it.Oh and don't quote me the "your taking royalties away from the artist" because once that original record has been initially bought the money from any future sales goes straight in to the sellers sky rocket.
