  5. Hi, was talkin to a couple of lads at the co-op niter on sat. I mentioned a niter in Sheffield that I went to in the early to mid eighties. The niter was promoted by Steve Croft. As far as I can remember it was held in an old mill? I know it was a Rasta club normally redstripe on sale all nite and heated by 2 bar electric fire lol. A lot of the Rasta lads came in and had an all nite card session in a back room. If I remember right, the building was called Blues Old Warehouse. The lads I spoke to were from That area and couldn't remember it at all Anyone remember? all the best Kimbo Northants.

  12. Hi, any info on the Lamarr Label regarding The above group's recording of What More Can I Ask For. I have it on the plain pink with Bunky's Pick (I know Bunky is Bunky Shepard) and again on the multi pinky coloured one with the Lamarr down the left hand side. Is one rarer? What is the value of each. Both in excellent condition. Thanks Kimbo

Me I'm sticking with my original Stafford top of the world underpants ( made out of pre shrunk fuzzy felt, yep I may get fluff in me belly button but its worth it . Where will it end Manus Kind regards Phil Micock
  16. Oh yeah another top nite Chalky. See you guys next Lifeline Lisa n meselfs first visit to the Stoke venue.
  17. Hi, Those 2 venues had a big impact on me. So much good stuff that was being played there, fresh to my lug holes. When most other soul nites at that time were catering for the returns ( people coming back on the scene after raising families etc). Well worth the trip up from Irchester Northamptonshire. Well done guys back then, and looking at the names involved still doin just that music wise. Bish Bosh Kimbo. Another venue for me was the Old English hotel Matlock, even earlier.
  18. I recon I might lol some rascals there. My opinion is the scene has changed. But if like me you like the warts and all and proper soul folk. Then enter the shadows, cross to the dark side and enjoy your soul scene the like minded people. You only live once and as Freddie Williams says gonna live live live while while I can.The publicity will pass along with the onlookers. atb kimbo
  19. black grape was gary cape from wakefield ha ha ok not him then. Umm wonder what record dealer it was then. Cheers for the correction. atb Kimbo

  22. Shocked and gutted, Tony has always been around on the scene since I first started going, and was always everywhere, and now he won't be bless him,. A lot of folk will miss him and his conversations and I hope that the fact he was so well liked will bring some comfort to those who were especially close to him. RIP Tony, that niter in the sky never ends matey. Kimbo
