  3. In the Master-Trak storage area, upstairs above the studio there is the remainder of the old inventory, from years past. Many of the releases, from the JD Miller studio... sold out, years ago, but in some instances, a few remain in boxes, on the shelves in the storage area... the "old store stock" from decades ago. This is an example... only 500 were pressed, and perhaps a dozen or so remain in a box, in the storage area... Unplayed... old store stock, still in the original manufacturers box! (generic sleeves) Rare opportunity. Releases such as this, were never reissued. There are only, the original pressings that exist. $50 ea (when they're gone, they're gone) I have third party verification / feedback of the condition we've been offering for years. We don't offer used records. We offer OLD, new condition records, from our warehouse storage area above the studio. Buy direct.

High gloss vinyl with a nice label. No scuffs. M- (because it has been handled in the assorted 45 area of our studio, and not from an inventory box of untouched inventory) $35

  15. Henry Clement, or Big Chief Takawaka, the "Swamp Doctah," as a jokingly calls himself, is a unique and entertaining performer. When he dons his Indian outfit and head-dress of many feathers, whether on stage or as a regular street festival performer, his Swamp Boogie / Second Line style of music and his evocations of the sights and sounds of New Orleans and Mardi Gras makes him and his band a real treat. Henry grew up in Crowley, Louisiana, a child prodigy who played piano, harmonica and drums professionally at dances throughout Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi before the age of ten and made his recording debut on J.D. Miller's Feature label in 1954 at the age of nineteen playing on a Lightning Slim session in place of Wild Bill Phillips, who could not make the date. At St. Teresa Elementary School, Henry won a number of talent shows and during his high school years he was honored as the number one percussionist for four consecutive years. His first high school band was the Junior Jivers. He subsequently won a full music scholarship to Southern University in Baton Rouge, where he formed his first band, The Drops Of Joy, which later became the Dew Drops, and later, the Gaynotes. For Henry, college was one continuous musical experience. He played with the Jazz Band, Concert Band, Marching Band, ROTC Band, the Men's Chorus, and the Symphony Orchestra. In college, he formed the Trojans Band which lasted from 1958 'til the 1970s. Henry's recording career started in July 1957 as Little Henry & The Dew Drops. He recorded three songs for Jay Miller, only one of which, "Tall Skinny Mama," saw belated release in 1981 with Lazy Lester on drumming box. He issued singles in 1958 with moderate regional success as Little Clem & The Dew Drops and as Little Henry. In the early 1960s, Henry began his career in education, working with students in music and math, and counseling while coaching and serving in administrative positions. He went on to earn a Masters Degree in Education from Southern University and a Doctorate equivalent in Education from the University of California, Berkeley. Henry was a Career Counselor for the Oakland Unified School District and his primary source of income came from teaching kids how to stay away from drugs and off the streets. He retired from teaching and mentoring in Oakland in June of 1996 with more than 40 years of educational experience. But The Gumbo Band has stayed together and Henry has always found time to perform during school vacations and weekends with such major artists as Amos Milburn, Fats Domino, Otis Redding, Charles Brown, Jimmy Smith, Joe Simon, Bobby Bland, The ChiLtes, Joe Tex, Barbara Lynn, Ray Charles, James Brown, Clifton Chenier, B.B. King, and others. Henry is also very active in his fraternity, Omega Psi Phi.

  20. Sorry to hear about your misfortune on epray. That sucks. I very much like our regular customers who stop by and dig through the warehouse. You folks need to come to the USA some time, and just get some records. I work for a record company that has been around since 1946. We've got boxes, of unplayed soul, r&b, blues, funk, zydeco, cajun and many other genres of old store stock. we prefer discogs, or this web site compared to ebay.. quite frankly. don't really use them too much... we don't feel the need to auction them. we prefer set sale methods.
  21. Angie Brown: $40 Lynn August $40 Chuck Colbert: $40 Warren Storm: $40 Kat (of Kat & The Kittens) $40 These are from the Master-Trak inventory. Originals. Only 500 pressed, of each of these releases... very few remain, in the boxes in our warehouse. Unique Opportunity... BULK DEAL Buy one of each: Total Vinyl Price $175, plus postage... (shipment to UK would be about $20)
  22. https://www.discogs.com/sell/item/316273877 The record company I work with has just issued a new Boogie Kings release! There is a a nice amount of history and info of this band at discogs... Please contact mterecords@bellsouth.net with your input about vinyl releases. We value your input... 45s? LPs? Both? Help us, help you.
  23. Well played. Kudos. It sure is nice to see ethics in this day and age. Tell your boss here at SS I said to give you a raise, Rod. :^)
  24. my boss (mark miller) is working on that as i type this... and i'll provide some clips here asap. they're in the studio with a band, so i can't disturb them right this sec... but soon come. thanks for the inquiry. As far as emailing us... I'm not asking any of you to order... but for input about what medium you'd prefer... 45, LP... or both. Please consider emailing mterecords@bellsouth.net with your input concerning 45s or LPs It would really help me in convincing the owners... to crank out larger quantities. We manufacture the CD's in house, so those always come out first...
  25. Back in 2009, The Boogie Kings were in the studio... when Ned Theall passed away. Our music community truly lost a legendary arranger... The material will be released on CD, and we're asking the vinyl community for input on vinyl releases. Please contact mterecords@bellsouth.net with request foreither LP or 45, or both... My guess is 45's but my boss seems to think LPs are the way to go. I'd like to see both! but we're still a small outfit, and budget in this economy must be treated carefully, in any business. Thanks so much for supporting the music that came through the recording studios like Master-Trak. Lil Bob would love the fact that you folks listen to his music... many of the old artists who are gone would be blown away by YOUR passion for their music. Master-Trak has been here since 1946, and we're still going strong for two generations. Music is our passion. Louisiana is our home. Thanks for considering assisting me in convincing my boss that 45s are still in high demand! Working in the music business is a gift. Thanks for supporting what we do, at the studios, record stores and music shops! Here is a sneak peak of MTE 5099-2... The CD version will be on the streets Tues, Feb 2 and the vinyl takes way more time, now that the manufacturers are so back logged...
