yes i thought about that, but i am not really a dealer and i noticed everyone prices records, which i just have no idea about... i am not an appraiser... i was attempting to be humorous, but what i wanted to achieve may not have wwworked. ;P

I want someone who is interested in 45s. I buy alot of vinyl, but my thing is LPs... and many of the folks who I purchase collections from have a "all or nothing" disclaimer / policy. Recently I bought out two different collections, and both have some 45 inventory from radio stations. (one was a partial lot, another buyer bought out the entire 45 lot on the spot) but I still have assloads of 45s I really have no personal use for. about 1500 total +/- 45s are cool and all, but for me it is a matter of space. Tons of promos, motown, obscurities, etc. I want someone to get in touch that wants this kinda stuff... :^p i rarely assign mint (don't consider myself a professional appraiser) record value Now it just might be my bias-- for I've always been a fan of stuff like this-- but the prices I see on items like this seem low. Yea, I realize it isn't rare. Or, that rare... (in awesome condition they are rare) Most KING label stuff i come across looks like a frisbee dog toy... no, worse than that. I've seen price guides, and I mean no disprespect, but to me some of the printed books are... wrong. Merely the opine of a new collector, but a old fan. As far as soul, James Brown is the benchmark, right? And the Syd Nathan label... "saga" What history! Actually items like this are of historic musical importance, imho. Think of the impact KING and "The Godfather of Soul" had on the music scene. Good Gawd! Heck, I recall white folks being all insulted and "against" this type music in the early USA days but look at what soul has become... Yea, my age is showing. Anyway, just a rant. I just saw what Osborne and Goldmine list as prices and it pissed me off. lol. just kiddin'

I see so much Fats stuff in our area-- they are extremely common. but then new orleans is only a couple hours east of here. not that my opinion amounts to a hill a beans... but... wow. that is refreshing... from what i have seen on the web in discussion forums. to see two folks talk (er... type) their way thru a disagreement or misunderstanding in a forum... and do so like gentlemen! that is not always the case... i am sure you are aware... sometimes threads get locked, flame wars, etc, etc... anyway... nice. kudos to both of you. fwiw, i could care less if someone sells for a friend... (sounds to me like he made a wise choice in having you attempt to market the item... perhaps he is not in a position to do so... or, who knows) as an example... in the last year or so, i sold an entire collection for a friend. basically, just helping out a non internet compadre who would have likely sold them for a buck a piece at a garage sale or... who knows what. likely happens fairly often, is my guess... (selling items for aquaintances / friends... or even consignments from some of the "dealers") who knows... i am guessing... i am a noob to collecting.

imho vg+ should still be very shiney and in extremely nice condition... at first glance it still looks new(ish) vg++ (or Ex) is a bit better than vg+ but not quite nice enough to be NM grade conservatively and build up karma points, is the moral to the story. fwiw... i do not own any mint items. none. zip. nada. kind of refreshing to hear someone say that, isn't it. Irma is such an awesome talent. She is pure 100% class act too. Such a sweetheart. New Orleans, for being such an insane place, sure does produce alot of excellent musicians--and Irma is the Queen. imho. I literally cannot count the times I have seen her live... at festivals, venues, etc in the Louisiana region. Pleasure each time... her live shows are always tres bon. I see her vinyl in the US fairly often... in our region anyway-- and it sells for low prices. a few dollars per 45... at the most.

The label is bright, clean but may have imperfection. VG++ May have minor scuffs with very minor impact on sound quality. There can possibly be a hairline or two. Vinyl is bright and shiny; label is clean with occasional very minor wol or other minor imperfections VG+ Some minor visible surface imperfections, very minor hairlines, scuffs, minimal impact on sound quality. Vinyl will still have good luster; labels may have minor imperfections (small stickers or initials, etc.) but otherwise in overall very nice condition. VG A used record but the darn thing somehow still plays thru-- and miraculously doesn't sound all that bad-- compared to how trashed it appears, visually.
