Well, after the AMAZING July event, we're thrilled to welcome everyone back for another summer soul night. We have a real treat in store this month with a trio of DJs who you KNOW are going to bring a great party. We are so lucky to have: LISA WOLVERSON - coming all the way from Ireland, just for us! Superb, classy, soulful tunes, sharing the love and filling the dance floor. CHRIS DALE - all the way from Catford! Digging deep in to his boxes, I don't know how this man has room for any more records in his house! First time playing SATR - we can't wait for this. CHRIS SWEET - AKA 'the king of clubs', the man who never stops clubbing is doing a special set and whooping it UP on his birthday! We have been busy procuring an equally brilliant line up for February to keep the cold away: MARCO SANTUCCI A rare treat for us from one of London’s favourite DJs, collector-extraordinaire, man of impeccable taste, and of course Exec Producer and music supervisor of the Northern Soul film. Marco has records to die for and is looking forward to letting his hair down and bringing us the very best of the Santucci play box. RICH BUCKLEY, The Welsh Wonder! Rich loves 60s and 70s anthems and is well-known for his brilliant Leeds nights, the Soulville all-nighters and That Driving Beat. CHRIS VINES Chris has been collecting soul records for over 40 years and has loved entertaining dancers at numerous venues since his first night at the Castle in Tooting back in 1983. He was a regular at the Kitchener road nights between 2011 and 2018. We are very excited to invite Chris along to the Ritzy to share his fantastic collection with us. After 6 months of successful events in the great space Upstairs at Brixton's RITZY Cinema, Stef Jones is passing the night on to JAKE LINGWOOD, DONNA DRISCOLL, LISA HURLEY and everyone's favourite fabulous uncle DOUGLAS LING. This crew is determined to bring you fantastic, fresh soul nights on the second Thursday of every month. The venue is superb, proper dancefloor, purpose built sound system, and a great balcony over the front of the Ritzy, overlooking Windrush Square, which is great for both hanging out, chilling and anti-covid ventilation . We have an open music policy, so expect everything from mod to modern. OVO obviously. First night is a really good line up: ADY CROASDELL (no intro needed!) JOEL MASLIN (100 Club resident) DAN WATKINS (Crawdaddy) plus your hosts, Donna, Lisa, Jake, Dougie on rotation. BRIXTON is great for transport, so even if you don't usually do South London you can make your way to Brixton as it's on the Victoria line. The Cinema is 1 mins walk from the tube. Wish us luck.
