I have a lot of Old skool 70s re-issues/Boots which i have had for countless years. All the Big Wigan Titles such as Lillie Bryant, Morris Chestnut,Judy Street,Herbert Hunter, etc etc.I now want to try and sell them and just hold onto my originals. Can anyone recommend any dealers that would be the best ones to take this kind of material off my hands.I'm realistic and not looking for the earth just a fair price for the lot, don't really want to go down the ebay route. Some of them must be in demand and quite hard to locate nowadays.Any Suggestions Please!!

  5. I Had a similar transaction a couple of years ago when i bought a Billy Davis--Stanky from Dave.Great e-mail communication and the disc arrived from Japan in 4 days, unbelievable i have had records take longer sent from less than 20 miles away.Don't be put off by Dave's location at all his service is spot on.Having said that i have bought lots of records from Soul Source members and all deals have gone brill, think on the whole its a great site to buy and sell on
  6. YEP agree totally SWEET LOVING is an Awesome Dancer
  7. I went a couple of times during 1980 as a young 15 year old, remember all the older soulies asking me if i were into oldies or newies and daft as a brush i replied Northern Soul.So what do you call this thats getting played now then someone asked. The records being played were Skip Mahoney's --Janice followed by Omni--Keys to the city under a cover up name.My big mouth mate loudly replied where we come from mate we call this DISCO.I have been educated a bit since then.Remember the venue was a bit of a dive and the local village morons hated the soulies but the place was full of top soulies from far and wide returning from nighters.
  8. I have a Golden Eye boot of the track Pyramid and on the flip is a fantastic Instrumental by The Phrenetics Band. The track is called the Michigan Move.I think this is an unissued track played at the Stafford nighters in the 80s,but i have never heard it played out anyware.Whats the score on this one does anyone know who the band are and does it exist on any other vinyl. Its a real shame that it doesn't get any plays it would be a stormer played out loud.Surely if its unissued it would be ok to play out from the golden eye release,or is it another one destined for the soul police cells
  9. And as previously mentioned a legit re-issue 45 on a nice looking label for the SOULVATION first anniversary 2002.Great record remember first hearing it played by Sam at a Snaith All-Dayer in 1980,also massive at Clifton Hall
  10. Stick to the St Clair, its the first issue,it's harder to find , and in my opinion it sounds crisper when played nice and loud
  11. Well done to you and your family Simon you have every right to feel proud. Think someone famous once said WHAT WE DO FOR OURSELVES DIES WITH US BUT WHAT WE DO FOR OTHERS REMAINS FOREVER.Like Barney says i'm sure you would get a great response from a Soul night collection,or any other donation ideas.TOP MAN PATTO
  12. What do you think of the (Baby what changed your mind) track Steptoe it could work played out me thinks
  13. What a fantastic slab of Northern soul this is.I first heard it played by Richard Searling late 90s manchester ritz nighter and tried for years to get a sound file of it.Then as said previously it came out on the CD DEREK MARTIN--THE ROULETTE RECORDINGS.I got a carver done of it along with another unissued track BABY WHAT CHANGED YOUR MIND
  14. Can anyone tell about this one,Chick Jacksons's CHAINS OF LOVE/ANY DAY NOW on the MAGIC label. Is this an out and out Bootleg the label looks great and the vinyl is thick and machine stamped matrix.Seems a lot of trouble to boot a common record,What was the Story?behind it
  15. BOTh now sorted thanks for responses
  16. Steve it sounds like i'm from your era mate.I used to do exactly the same as you at clifton Hall.I went from 1983 and used to wait for the majority of 70s tracks to finish and jump up when the late casino R.Searling spins would come on.However nowadays i have come to love the uptempo 70s Clifton Hall,Cleggy winter gardens monsters and half of my record box contains them.Clifton was a fantastic venue one of the best ever no doubt
  17. Mary wells sorted still after Love
  18. Anyone got these two for sale Mary Wells---Can't you see you're losing me--Atco Mary Love---Lay This Burden Down---Modern Can send hard cash only no paypal, please let me know if you want to sell i will pay fair prices on either PATTO
  19. Yeh Know what you mean it does just need that bit of a boost to make it a cracker, guess thats what Max is trying with the up-pitch.Still think it would be great mid nighter which is maybe how searling saw it.Thanks for the price info mine is a VG+ also
  20. Bloody Hell Ian thats a Buying blind list to end all others mate
  21. Will Do Max,but have to say like it as it is.Looks like there are plenty of coppies out there what does it fetch nowadays
  22. Thanks Maria fantastic info there.Think the track is a perfect dancer for today should get more plays. Thanks again for your help
  23. For several years now i have had in my collection a copy of WHIRLPOOL----MARVELOUS RAY----U.S ABNER The record has some like plaster stickers on the TEARS side with the initaials R.J or R.S.The only thing i have been told about this record is that it was part of Richard searlings late casino playlist, but i have not heard it played out anywhere in the last 10 years.I really like the track can anyone tell me owt about it and is it desirable/valueable Cheers--PATTO
  24. Picked up my copy last night at Brighouse, kindly signed by Ginger and Rob.Started the book today its a great entertaining read.Spoke to Ginger outside and he was telling me he was off to the Torquay weekender straight after. The man is still putting himself about,he is very approachable and if you talk to him with warmth and respect he gives it back double. He is a peoples man,a soulies soulie, good luck to him and i hope the book sales pay for a great seat at the champions league final for a champion DJ
  25. Think it may have been 97 Billy.I loved to watch Soulie do that kick back spin move, tried to copy it many times and did get it but only half the speed of Soulie.Thing about him is he rarely did any acrobatics he didn't need to but when he did launch into tricks that was amazing too.Spoke to him once at Earl of Doncaster soul night when he was going out with Lynn Shaw the girl from the Cleethorpes T.V film
