Price well seen it a couple of years back for £75 but think that £40 is about right for it.If you get a chance on one snap it up.

  10. Yep i totally agree the released 45 is perfect. When i first heard the longer much hyped version it was a let down
  11. Don't think its had a shout but THE PRODUCERS--LADY LADY LADY is one of my faves. It is the Instrumental to What Kind Of Lady-Dee Dee Sharp. As much as i love Dee Dee's stunning vocal these days i prefere dancing to the Producers. Can be found on the Huff Puff Label on the flip to this beauty.
  12. Isn' it "Eating beans by the pound" ? and thereby blowing up? Could be mate always thought it was Peas but a pound of either would create the same Blow up i think
  13. From the Exciters--(Blowing Up My Mind), the classic lyric "It's almost like eating peas by the pound, then wrapping up in adhesive tape from the waist down"
  14. This one is mine on black Mirwood. No boots or re issues of it as far as i know.Deadwax details on mine 68-3135Re I Have just posted this on the instrumentals thread due to the Flip L A stomp. Two Awesome sides
  15. Can't find a you tube clip but always loved the PERFORMERS---L.A STOMP Its the flip and the instrumental to the awesome I CAN'T STOP YOU on Mirwood Heard the instro played out only once and the sound was fantastic lots of people asking what it was
  16. Jordan a good easy way to start is to get the Goldmine CDs --SOULFUL KINDA 70s, The Cleethorpes Story,The Blackpool Mecca Story. These three cds will give you most of the big sounds that back in the day we simply called NEWIES
  17. Had this record for a while--DOROTHY BEERY--DONT YOU GIVE ME LOVE--BIG THREE Always lked it right up my street uptempo Northern soul with an R&B twist. But recently a mate suggested i play the flip SOUL POWER and WOW what a nice surprise .Its a more of a mid tempo track, but a great intro, nice beat , and hook lyric "My baby gives to me SOUL POWER" Has Soul Power ever had any DJ or Venue spins at any time or will it stay hidden from the Needle like so so many others Patto
  18. Loved Em Back then but I'm More scared of them now as i feel my knees giving way
  19. Bit of both Peter it has a nice break in the middle where the footwork guys used to do there stuff. Not heard it played out for a while but it always seems to do well
  20. Classic Cleethorpes Winter Gardens floor packer, you should be able to get one easy enough, Manship has the Salsoul 7 at £15 i think
  21. I think that there are many examples of good White Soul singers, but the very best soul is in my opinion delivered by a Black voice. But its a real minefield with many differing opinions. At the end of the day if the artist makes that emotional connection with the listener that tears your heart strings or makes you want to dance then he or she has conveyed SOUL to you regardless of their creed.
  22. This is my copy which is marked up the same as the first one NECKENDER lists, with the square finish to the edge of the vinyl.Think it sounds the same as yours GOGS
  23. Out of interest is the first one rare--GSCD 001 THE ESSENTIAL NORTHERN SOUL STORY.
  24. Great record . i started a thread about this tune last year after i heard again it after several years.Managed to bag one for £25 i think but if you find one grab it as its being looked for and if you get one get it played it deserves a spell on the decks even though most will not know it.Nice to see young DJs like you looking for tunes like this.
  25. THANKS FOR REPLYS BUT NOW SORTED
