  1. Why not have one made by Howard Castle (Castle Hard Cases) in Heckmondwyke. Fully flight cased, aluminium covered, foam lined with latches for padlocks all for about £50 for something that would hold 300 45's. Steve
  2. Maybe the seller is a tea leaf Steve
  3. "Most probably"..... I think the word is definitely as Sue Lynne didn't get a USA release and thats the USA label. Same with the Solomon label. BOOT BOOT BOOT all the way.
  4. Yes it was played
  5. Mint minus white demo any good? Steve
  6. Mint 1713 posts If a DJ is called a DJ because he plays Discs, is a Laptop player called a Lap Jockey ? ooer ! A DJ is called a DJ because when the term was derived there was no other format. Nowadays many "superstar" DJ's use mp3, CD and SD cards. The role of a DJ is to entertain the crowd, be all, end all. It's because we on this elite scene are anally retentive. Steve (An OVO collector for many years but now so much not on the scene because of the politics)
  7. To be honest, I've given up on it all. Being priced out of the market as a collector, having to endure the same old, same old tunes at many venues and watching the fancy dress crew deny the scene any chance of progression. Personally, I'd say that the digital era may progress the scene but yes, it goes against the ethics. However, if someone said to me they were going to put on a night where you could hear totally new stuff but off a CD or mp3, I may be interested. As far as interest goes and attendance, look at the photo's posted here and just look how many venues are about a third full, if that! Says it all as far as I'm concerned. Steve
  8. Dave, I really don't want to ruin it for you or anyone else but I just have to tell you that......................................... The butler did it!
  9. I've looked at the first post and the last post prior to my reply here. Aaron I have to say that is the most positive post I have seen in years. Andrea Ko.... where do you go. There are people in fancy dress at every venue! I will have a look at posts in between to see if I've spoken out of turn but realistically, I don't think so. Steve
  10. Cant recall ever seeing a seven of it although nothing is impossible. I've still got the 12" too after Sam made it a mini monster.... well for a few weeks anyway! Steve
  11. The DJ booth is quite small and the CD decks are already installed with nowhere to put some SL1200's. Like I said it's more of a chill out scenario, a venue in a scenic village where you could enjoy good music, good beer and like minded company with the chance to have a shuffle if you wanted to! Steve
  12. Appreciate all previous comments but I'd have to say that it may be aimed more at locals and tourists and as I said, it would be a free event and probably more background music filtering upstairs but the chance to chill and dance if you wanted to with open decks. I could see people from Huddersfield, Brighouse and Denby Dale areas taking the time to come over for a couple of beers maybe. Like I said, the idea has been put to me by the bar owner and I'm simply putting the feelers out. Steve
  13. Should have phrased differently I guess. It has a small dance floor but little room behind the DJ console to put decks in. It would be for listening and shuffling pleasure, not a place for acrobatics.
  14. Hi all, Just wanted to get your opinion on this. I have the opportunity to put an "across the board" Sunday soul session in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire. I'm tempted to use the term "Summer Wine Soul". The problem (and it's not a problem for me as far as I'm concerned) is that it would take place in a cellar under a bar in the village centre. Due to space it would have to use CD decks rather that 1200's or 1210's. I appreciate that this may offend OVO lovers but I would aim to make this an open deck (albeit CD) free event playing anything and everything from sixties through to up front modern and beyond. Would you DJ, would you attend and would you approve of such and event? Non profit making and just a chance to enjoy all kinds of soul music in a quiet West Yorkshire village between 2pm and 10pm as an example? Your thoughts appreciated Regards Steve
  15. If, just if, you had the chance to put on an event that would earn you, for example £5k or £50 quid. What would you go for, bearing in mind there may a lot of ifs and buts along the way on both fronts! Steve
  16. Anything oil based will remove sticker residue. Mayonnaise is good without being too harmful. Steve

  18. His best ones were without doubt the cartoons of the day. Topcat , phantom janitor and the misleading James Mack and the Chicago Gangsters. Great days, fantastic music.
  19. I sold him that one. They really don't come up that often, and definitely not in anything more than VG+ as the quantity that were found by John Anderson were water damaged stock. The one I let Richard have was OK vinyl wise but the label was not good. Steve
  20. OK here goes. I've reviewed my original offer> How about £200 including postage for a M- copy. Steve
  21. With a statement like that anyone would think you were from Connecticut !
