  1. Are you sure Trev. I'm sure I can remember both Uncle Dickie and Soulful Sam getting it from JA at the same time and I'm sure I got mine a few months later as it was going big. Could be wrong of course and, to be honest, I don't know where Arthur would fit in as i never really saw Arthur at the Bowl as much as I did Uncle Dickie and Sam. Old age creepeth up Aaaaagghhhh
  2. Had it many moons ago but as with lots of my collection, it got sold. Think it went to Carl Fortnum for some outragous price of £100 quid at the time although it's so long ago I could be wrong. Such is life
  3. With a bit of luck they would have the wake before the funeral and then play the Subway Riders "After The Session" when I go through the flame grill. Steve
  4. Always been an advocate of everything under one roof although I must say, I'm jaded at the moment and can't be arsed with the retro side of things. I'm sure if it moved on, featured all aspects... northern, ballads, modern, soulful house and indeed the "new" funk side of things it would make it more interesting for everyone apart from those set in their ways. Love it all and that's the way it should be, after all, it's all soulful whether it's to your taste per individual record or not. Steve
  5. I had a copy and sold it with all my "mobile disco" stuff to Ian Clarke. Don't know if he still has it stashed somewhere but I thought it was garbage compared to It Aint Easy. Do you want to borrow both copies (It Aint Easy - Psyche and Bionic) Ady? Can get them down to you if you wish Steve

  7. I'm inclined to agree with Ian. I think it's a great tune, always loved it. I think the Psyche release could be harder to find than you think though. I haven't seen it listed for ages and it's certainly not a track that appears on sales lists on a regular basis. Seems to book anywhere between £200 -£300 so it must be at least "scarce" if not on the "rare" side. My own opinion of course Steve
  8. Ady, I'm 99.9% sure it was never booted. Guess he could be getting mixed up with the Bionic release thinking it was a boot Steve
  9. "In this world that spins around I've been up and I've been down I have pounded every street 'Till my heart cries to my feet But somewhere I know there's room for me I don't owe this world a dime Paid for every breath of time Love has smiled and love has frowned Love has run me to the ground But somewhere I know there's room for me" Jesse Davis "There's room for me" Revere ..... and if I still have the record I want it chucked in the coffin with me
  10. Ady, it certainly got Northern action as it was quite a huge Cleethorpes spin but I really don't know whether it got plays on the "disco" scene. Best Steve
  11. and I got 3 guns levelled at me before everyone cooled down. ........... And they're after you to this very day huh??? I've got both releases of Charley R and there is a definite difference Ian. Maybe you should call in when oooop north and have a listen. Best Steve
  12. Ian, It's a different mix on Bionic... honest Guv
  13. Hi Ady, Can't confirm your question entirely but I presume you are aware it came out twice. Firstly on Psyche (darkish blue label & pressed on styrene) which is the rarer and superior mix. Secondly it came out on Bionic (light blue/turqouise label pressed on vinyl). The second one is certainly credited to New Image although I would have to dig both out to confirm exactly how the name appears. Hope that helps a little Steve H
  14. Looking at Tim's online price guide along with Popsike and of course Mr Manship a figure of £150 falls into place for the Herbert Hunter. I, however have the Vala Regan and would be looking at a more realistic price of £225 (£25 less than the online guide price). Fine shape and all that but maybe more than you wanted to pay. Let me know Best Steve
  15. I try my best but sometimes it's just not good enough. I still find the sh*te tucked away in there somewhere
  16. Hi Mick, Not forgotten, just didn't find it last night. Will have another look tonight. Steve
  17. Think it came out around 2004/5 and featured LP only Northern tracks including Clyde McPhatter "Give Me One More Chance" etc. Need to dig my copy out when I get in and give you the info. Seem to think it was a Sony/ Universal release and nothing to do with Goldmine. Best Steve
  18. Surely the "What No 45's" CD is legit ???
  19. I was managing a petrol station many years ago while back in Boston, Lincs. Freddie Starr was booked to play the local theatre and pulled up in his Roller to fill up. We had a nice chat and he was a thoroughly decent fella. He paid for his fuel on Barclaycard and as he signed the slip I asked if he would let me have his autograph too. The Barclaycard slip was signed... Frederick L Starr but his autograph for me was just Freddie Starr. So whether he has changed his name or it was just coincidence, he is officially Frederick L Starr. Sometimes I amaze myself at the sh*te that sticks in my mind
  20. Sold my Blue Issue on here a few months ago for about £400 if my memory serves me right. It was visually rough though. I've got a demo which I would consider letting go but would suggest, as everyone else, make an offer and I will give it serious consideration. Steve
  21. Gonna have to dig it out but what about "Grapevine" by The In Crowd. Brilliant guitar builder of a tune Steve
  22. Totally the reverse to the thread but..... Phil Coulter "Good Thing Going", heard a vocal version the other day. Anymore info on that please Steve
  23. Think its wishful thinking Shiney.... love him to bits but last time I spoke to him he said he only used computers for music work Steve Handbury
