John Anderson at Soul Bowl had countless 45 Gold Discs hanging around (or just stuffed way) and I can't for the life of me remember what they were, needless to say they all related to massive sellers. Actually there was a Mel & Tim track (presume Backfield In Motion) and £Cowboys To Girls" but thats all I can remember at the moment. Bought both of them for less than £100 (think it was£80). Sold the demo years ago and then let John have the issue to auction about three years ago. Be careful now....James Dyson moved to Malaysia for one reason only. He wanted to expand his factory in Malmesbury to create more jobs and products (at his design centre). The council would not let him expand fearing he was moving too close to a green belt area. He had one option open to him... re-locate and it became clear that it was going to be much cheaper to re-locate to Malaysia. He does however, maintain his design centre at Malmesbury, along with the help-line call centre. For the record (45rpm of course ... ha) the hand dryer is known as the Air Blade. The fan is not a fan at all as it doesn't have a fan, it is in fact the Air Multiplier and finally the heater version of the Multiplier is the Dyson Hot which uses ceramic plates to create directional heat. You're spot on Bob. Most of the big dealers would say value your collection and then take 50% off. Then another percentage to allow for the 45's that sit on the shelves as duplicates for ages because nobody wants them. So if, for example, Cookie's collection is worth £50k, a realistic buy price would be £18 - 22k for a dealer, depending on condition and, dare I say it, the dregs in the collection that nobody wants.

Think I might sell mine if they fetch that kind of money. I have about 7 Wigan badges, never been near a needle and thread to be put on anything. Likewise, loads of EASC stuff, anniversary patches etc etc. For some unknown reason to me, the only badges I had that were sewn onto anything were the "mickey mouse" satin backed badges which were a bit smaller in size to the normal ones. Did I have a premonition..... anyone buying. Maybe I'll put em up in sales or is e-bay best????? Steve

Not really..."it takes years" for something to come into fashion. This scene of ours changes like everything else. If someone picks up on a track and tries it out and gets nowhere after a few plays, it's dropped as a no-goer. A couple of years down the line,the same thing. In the meantime, dance-floor tastes have changed (as per the new funky edged style of Northern) and all of a sudden said track becomes huge. It's not the DJ who makes the track big, it's the dancers who in turn influence the collectors. The DJ simply has the record and, if he's the first one to play it, belief in the track, but it has to be the right sound for "now". Steve
