  1. I've really got my doubts about this. It's impossible to capture what we had and I was very disappointed with the book. Only time will tell I guess.
  2. I guess that was aimed at me but sorry for my ignorance, I don't understand And apologies if it wasn't meant for me but I still don't understand the pos
  3. "Love Hustle" ... fantastic track. Notnecessarily Northern but a great tune none the less. Tony Hatch & Jackie Trent wasn't it??/ Steve
  4. Spot on... and here's a pair of said comedy trousers that have been in my loft for the last 30 odd years and never worn simply because they're daft
  5. Put 'em on again Baz... you're brilliant and I echo every word you've said Steve
  6. If anyone has the Manifesto magazine where I did the interview with Ronnie (just as he was taking Levi's place in the Tops) he went into great detail about both sides of his De-To release, even naming the girl about whom the song was written. Unfortunately I don't have access to my copy and the drive on which all the info is stored is out of service. Steve
  7. Got one will pm tomorrow Best Steve

  12. To be honest I don't mind the David Gest shows although it is very much a conveyer belt system... act one - two songs and off, act two two or three songs and off, act three etc etc. The only down side to this new show is that it is just Little Anthony without the Imperials. Now that is such a shame. Also the only Northern track you are likely to hear would be "Better Use Your Head" and I would have thought that unlikely. Just my thoughts of course Steve
  13. Cheers alan
  14. Is there a legitimate instrumental release of this track?
  15. The Otis Clay's are down to really poor styrene rather than a fault in the pressing process. If anyone has an Otis Clay that has been played more than a couple of times it will have developed a hiss. I have two copies, one which I used to use for DJ'ing which hisses quite badly, then one which I have played once and only once which is absolutely spot on. Steve
  16. Glad you're on the same wavelength Steve. Presume you've read the new book. Why dedicate the first two and half chapters to the subject I wonder... no need!!! Steve
  17. Paul Mason, away from the scene for 35 years. Were his clothes researched and funded by the BBC for his first visit to a niter in three decades? As for those two eejots who featured throughout... they make a mockery of the scene by turning it into a fancy dress party. Baggy trousers, circle skirts, just a case of re-living what they missed out on I guess whilst living a "normal" life away from the scene for many years IMO. It's what's in the groove that counts so FFS... GROW UP!
  18. What's a realistic price on the Headlines on Luaua "looking for a love" in mint condition. Tim b has it at £75 which I think is way too low. John m has it about £400 and Popsike hovers around or above that price. Anyone bought or sold one recently?
  19. Hi Jim Good to meet you today. Mine would be something I want on my headstone. "In this world that spins around, I've been up and I've been down, I have pounded every street, 'till my hearts cried to my feet, but I know somewhere there's room for me" Jesse Davis "there's room for me" revere picture sleeve and for sale at a grand. Never taken off but it will and watch it rise in price! Best Steve
