Actually thinking about it, it would have been the Sun or the Mirror as Francesco's book focussed on and was titled the "Last night of Wigan Casino"

Not sure if that was a Francesco Mellina image as used in his book or from one of the tabloids when they were all over the Wigan scene

It was a subject that I brought up when I interviewed her and Nick at the Blackpool Weekender a good few years ago for Manifesto. She absolutely denied it was her. One of the worst interviews I had, that and Diana Ross. So far up their own ar*es. I didn't bother letting it go to print.

As a final update, Ben at Charly has agreed to send a copy out to me as the original is presumed mislaid. Royal Mail tracking indicates that the package is at the depot their end but there are no further updates. As always, thanks for everyone's input Steve

Thanks Peter, I don't buy many records nowadays but I've certainly had my fair share of trouble when I have. As an update, I had an email yesterday from a chap called Ben saying that they acknowledged my order and will be back in touch. As yet still no further info. Trust you are well too. Further to Dave's update, as yet I have heard nothing (responses to 3 x emails) nor received anything. Admittedly our post is slow being out in the sticks so I'll give it until tomorrow (Saturday) and then follow it up with maybe a Sonic Wax involvement too. Steve

I would like to say I didn't actually say it's a Scam, just hoped that it wasn't. I still haven't heard back from my three enquiries and have received no notifications, hence my concerns. Hi all, Does anyone have a contact for Charly Records? With the resurrection of the label I'm hoping this isn't another scam as per The Nurons issue on whatever label it was - Brewerytown springs to mind (yeah, I never received neither the issue or demo from them but did get a copy courtesy of Happy Feet on here for which I am eternally grateful). I ordered the Mill Evans quite some time ago but have received nothing. Anyone else had the same issue as I saw people posting on Facebook that their copy had arrived and even seen it on set lists when played out. I haven't checked my Paypal transaction history yet to get the date but I know it's been a while. Steve

Definitely Dave Withers - had many 45's from him back in the day. He was jointly responsible (with Rod Shard) for the boat load of Danny Moore "Somebody New" 45's that turned up post Wigan. Cracking bloke Oh.... and the music was over-dubbed

Had an email this morning announcing that Brewery Town Records are rising from the ashes and starting afresh. Personally, I hope they fail miserably as their previous ventures caused nothing but misery for many - myself included. If they have funds to start afresh then they should start by refunding those conned from previous dealings. Disgruntled of UK Steve
