  1. Hi, I´ve never in my life bought records from Tim Brown, but I even was on his auction page and was surprised about his sound clips and the grading of the records. He is nothing writing about if he´s taking the sound samples from the actual record, only a couple of funny attacks against other dealers, but that´s it. What´s your experience with him, does he take the sound clips from other copies or does he pushing some sand in the grooves of the record before he takes a sound sample of it, but if you´ve won an auction will you get cleaned superb as graded record???? I mean, there are a lot of records graded as Mint minus, but some of them sounding worse than EX, not to speak about his as VG++ graded records, but I also couln´d find a description about how his grading is to understand. A lot of interesting records there, but to be honest, in that case I can understand why the most of them does not yet have a bid on it. And no! -this is no attack against Tim Brown (biggest respect to him - one of the ikons of the Northern Soul scene), only a question to other collectors how to deal with him. Thanks in advance for sharing your experience with me and others, Andreas

  5. wasn´t there a also as re-issue declaired dena barnes which went for nearly 200 quid a couple of years ago?
  6. keep your eyes open vince, even the second press with "step into my heart" on flip can be picked up from time to time on the evil-bay for less than 150quid in fine condition and the dj-copy isn´t harder to find as the issue imo.
  7. c´mon... there must be a lot of people around who are able to post a soundfile, it´s only a 100quid record in the jm price guide
  8. hi john, it seems you got both label variants and both are original, why not selling the copy without the arranger on label and keep the other one? i would be very interested. cheers, andreas
  9. the german press can´t be a first press, but it´s surley its rarest form (but who cares )
  10. for me it is even not the first press then, but i know, if i would be always be that strong with the presses, than i couldn´t even not play out a l.allen press instead of a larry allen or sometimes not a west coast press of an as first on the west coast pressed record or even not an issue of which were also made dj-copies before......i don´t know what it is, but i had a couple of times the chance to buy a "mixed emotions ORIGINAL with arranger shown" but i always had the feeling with this record "no, thanks...it´s not original". but that was probably always of the long discussions about it which makes me willing to go 100% sure. anyway, i have this feeling now, with a lot of records of those "later" presses which excists and who knows, it´s maybe another kind of MIXED EMOTIONS btw.....anyone has an ORIGINAL (without the arranger shown ) for sale? - pm me!
  11. you and a lot of other people are probably right. but for me and maybe only for me is the information that the copy with the aranger under the band title acouple of months after the 300 copies of them without the aranger were pressed are reason enough still to be after a copy without and counting this one to the 2nd press. but as i stated.....just for me! no attack and no try to soil your selling.
  12. 2nd press from ´75/´76 ........no, no, no, not that topic again
  13. indeed a fantastic 1st version on this mega rare press. for me out of all reason why they did the later press on mah´s in such a bad way the flip "fun to be young" is also completely different to the mah´s presses, but a boring mover anyway (imo). still only three copies known, as far as i know. great record and a must for "real" detroit-collectors
  14. 75 not bad! My copy seems to be a mis-press, because that "Mistery Woman" on my copy is total rubbish and far far away from a great track (IMO) but "Twilight Zone" is an absolute northern stomper without a doubt and one good side per single is enough.
  15. I know that works great at ebay buys, but does it also at buying outside of ebay? I think not, but would be very interested to know if it does.
  16. Hi Dave, nice to see you sorted one the redd coach press is a nice bell sound stamped vinyl press and sounds (IMO) better as the Imperial styrene presses. It´s a while back that I sold my Imperial re-issue, but if I remember right then is the redd coach press 3 or 4 seconds longer, if that cares someone scan of the flip
  17. bull on hold
