  1. hi, very nice copy of this northern classic for sale. one label is slightly water demaged, see scan, but vinyl looks perfect sounds mintish without any background noises .....all in all EX+ please pm me your offers if interested (over 200quid please) thanks for looking, andreas
  2. please not, that name-and shame campaign is very entertaining
  3. I can´t understand why you give the full master out of your hands before the release is on market
  4. not bad, but I wouldn´t go to pay 20 quid for it, so thanks for that james.
  5. ....and always thought it´s a rare record. can´t see any reason why they did a bootleg/re-press on soul spectrum thank you all for your response
  6. Hi, just out of interest, how many copies are known of this beauty? I know about three copies....Butch, Sam and one copy must be at John & Ali Nightingale´s home. Some more around? tia, andreas
  7. no probs, on its way mate. best, andreas
  8. yes, I´m quite sure. I bought one copy a couple of years ago from a record dealer out of Philadelphia, where Larry Allen was living that time. He wrote me that he´s meeting Larry from time to time to have lunch together and I asked him about the different presses and if Larry did some other stuff. After two weeks he got back to me and wrote that the Larry Allen press came as first followed by the L. Allen press short after that and that this record was the one only record Larry ever did. And the guy seemed to me to be very serious. But you also can read about some more in There´s That Beat issue 3, page 14/15.......highly recommendable! (and still available, I guess......ask Dave Moore, on here in the forum)
  9. but Larry was the first press and I prefer to play from first presses
  10. awesome track would love to find somebody who is willing to take my L. Allen copy and gives me a copy of Larry Allen for it (yes of course, I would pay something on top). SORRY IAN, BUT I CAN`T HELP YOU
  11. Hi, for sale is an awesome rock steady version by derrick harriott of the motown classic on original first press jam. crystal records from´68. the record is in sad condition and plays only vg with lots of crackles and pops, but as the most of the jam pressings the sound comes strong through. no skips or jumps. still a great copy till a better one comes up. see the scan below for label qly (flip looks miles better) quite hard to find piece of quality rock steady ....50quid p+p extra thanks for looking. all the best, andreas
  12. thank you all for bringing together all the great info. special thanks to simon for posting the sound clips, that saves me time and some ways thanks to benji for not liking the disc, which just show me that it must be good
  13. thanks a lot hank, but i still own an 100 and a 200 45 box made by adda case, but i don´t like them. they´re not save enough for records and the closures are not good IMO. one time 200 45´s of mine were spread over a pissed floor just because one of the closures was not accurate engaged and after five meters way it jumped up. the only luck i had was that all records were safely packed in paper sleeves and plastic sleeves extra, but it was a crap job to clean a all the plastic sleeves. other addresses still welcome
  14. thanks for that, but the qly over the phone would be aweful. will use the help of a friend to burn it on cd till weekend, then i´m able to do an mp3.
  15. hi, I´m searching for a good record flight case for up to 150 discs. It must not be a new one, but it should be solid, handy and save for my babies. any good addresses where to buy one or an old one spare? ......please pm me thank you, andreas
  16. Sorry, but I think Marc made a mistake. I´m not sure if this record was made by the Clinton Parliaments or not, but song writer was Mel Harris, nobody of the usual song writers of them. I asked George Clinton about the record via myspace, but he didn´t yet respond. The singers voice sounds a little bit rougher as the known Parliaments stuff, but similar anyway. I also never seen that compilation Marc was writing about, but both songs for me are definitely not doowop. It´s solid soul sound on both sides, one mover one dancer, with a little bit more guitar as usual, but good enough for soul nights. I would think the release date was between ´63 and ´65. Sorry, but I´m unable to do sound samples. ......and yes, the copy you saw on ebay went finally to my address
  17. there is one on the bay currently.... https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...A:IT&ih=020 and last week one copy went for over 400quid! but worth each penny of course
