Russ and his claim to fame rolls on yes he opened the gate for the cas club ,( why didn't he offer a rental fee ) I honestly don't remember Richard playing it at the time but actually who cares ,Kenny burrell turning up at the Ritz Manchester with it in his box sat next table to us with a chain and padlock on it to keep the titanic down ....for one record this has gone on enough to stretch anyones limitations of who played what ,where it come from ....at the end of the day did we all not DANCE to it ??? Oh indeed we did

I remember Kenny doing a spot at a local venue he had that f@uk off chain and padlock and secured it through a speaker stand - what he didn’t realise was that the chain could be removed if you just tipped the speaker back 1” - and slipped the chain out 🤣😂🤣

  2. I have a question- years ago I was told Tim’s copy is slightly warped - apparently / rumour has it that this was done when he was doing photo copy’s of the label on a photo copying machine, left it on got too hot and the rest is history ?

    Truth or False ?

  3. Why did big name DJ's at the time sell original label records at the same price as the boots were going for once the record got booted? - At the time booting a record did de value the original back in the mid 70ts most records went for around a £5 or less, then rare records went for £20 - £25 at the time around 1976 - I was earning £44 a week.

tune why would DJs do that? Russ did it himself on more than one occasion! - Remember that All DJs we’re off there heads on speed some more than others - maybe they got caught up in the moment- I went to the Casino 75 - 81 I never saw it or heard about records been thrown onto the dance floor or handed out - not saying it never happened 👍🏻 My 2 cent

    “”Martin bailey
here my dear is a memory of the golden years of soul music,i was in the stinky toilets of the golden torch in tunstall with my mate phil having a row about whether or not a dog barks in the second chorus of one wonderful moment. it does i swear. we only ever heard the record at the torch or later at the bali hai in newcastle under lyme on a sunday nightso we never really settled the argument. daft what you remember isn't it but i swear whenever i am passing through smoke on trent or up porthill bank into wolstanton ( watlands youth club forever)i keep my eyes peeled for wonderful moments and barking dogs.great show mary play us the dog bark for old times sake.””

NSG - deffo dog barking - I remember not only at the casino and other venues of the time - but driving from Wigan back to Aldershot with a tape recorder running out of batteries and going over the same section / play / rewind / play / rewind etc etc time and time again - speed come downs who needs them 🤣😂🤣😂

  5. What is Bruce Springsteen's net worth 2021?

    $650 million

His lauded career and seminal catalog can be quantified by his $650 million net worth. According to celebritynetworth.com, Springsteen, when touring, can earn a whopping $80 million a year.9 May 2022

I very much doubt Bruce cares - it would certainly be his management team, squeezing a bit more out of him to justify there wages 🤔🤔

  6. Fundraising for the $55 million campaign stands at $43 million, following a $5 million gift last month from Dan Gilbert’s Rocket Companies and Gilbert Family Foundation.

What is Berry Gordy's net worth?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Berry Gordy has an estimated net worth of $400 million (£288m)

Guess he’s hanging onto it - just in case his elec and gas go up 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

  7. The Geezer who did these is Ally Mayer - the original promoter of Odd Fellows - all nighters and reunions- his details are on SS - so open to all, he’s a really nice guy and if you’re short of a set I am sure he would help out - if he has any spare - 👍🏻

  8. I don’t doubt you can insure you’re records - what puzzles me is how the hell you claim and what documentation you need to back it up with ?

Pictures / receipts / verification off a so called expert - who’s to say you insure you’re Don Gardner for 20k only for the flowing week someone broke in and stole you’re play box  with it in - but it was not a real one - but the person knew that when they insured the collection - as did there mate who slipped in got the box and is now splitting the small collection down and selling it off 🤔

Pay out from the insurance people and double payout through selling the records ??

It reminds me of a mate who went to Spain yeas ago came back and claimed he lost a 3k Rolex - the insurance company asked for full documentation/ where he brought it / receipts the lot - saying you brought it off a bloke in a pub is not going to be enough - hang in but that’s what we use to do a venues just buy them off a bloke in a record bar 🤔🤔

  10. Steve I remember a bloke called James who sold records at Wigan regularly - he lost so many records he put string through the middle with enough slack you could lift them up to inspect - great idea until someone cut the string 🤔🤔😳😳
