  1. Twice!!! Right, i'm off to work another night shift (blending cider so you lot can be refreshed during the warm weather) so don't you go listing a Constellations until i come home!
  2. Thanks for the kind words Nev. I'm a fussy git when it comes to vinyl quality and i know the record is not that rare but if i wasn't chasing it, i'm sure there would be one in sales every other week. That's the point of my post really, i'm looking for those paranoid stories where you feel that you're just never gonna find a copy of that "want" because certain things happen to make you miss it. I know i'll eventually get myself a copy but the adventure along the way is the frustrating bit. I have another story of missing out on a record that involves Larry Davis (on Kent) and a sugar lorry but i'll save that for another day.
  3. Greetings fellow Soul Sourcer's. Have you ever tried to track down a record and got the feeling that you're just not meant to own it! I've been chasing The Constellations "I Don't Know About You" for quite a while now and i'm always "just missing it" and it's even worse when certain things happen (out of the ordinary) to make sure you miss it (if ya know what i mean). My latest example is that i very rarely get asked to work a night shift but i had to do so last night. When i arrived home after 6 this morning i checked my e-mails and there was a pm from a Soul Source member (sent while i was at work) telling me that he had just listed a Constellations for sale so i instantly went to log on to Soul Source to send a pm but the site was down. The need for sleep got the better of me so i tried again when i eventually woke later on today. Soul Source was working this time and i managed to send a pm so the anxious wait began for a reply. Then the reply came with the words "just sold it an hour ago". My heart sank and all the "what if's" begin to fill my head. If i hadn't been working silly hours last night, i would have been able to respond to the pm earlier, if the Soul Source site wasn't down this morning.... if only i managed to get my pm sent sooner etc. etc. Have you any similar stories where you feel the whole world is conspiring against you so you just can't get that chunk of vinyl?
  4. Hello, looking for the following 2 in EX. condition (with label centre's intact) if possible. Please pm with price and condition. Thank You. THE REGGAE BOYS - "BA BA" (Gas) KEN PARKER - "I CAN'T HIDE" (Treasure Isle)
  5. Last shout for this from me before i spend my money on other vinyl. Is there anybody out there willing to let this go???? Cash waiting!!
  6. Yeh, i spotted that but as with most of the ones that turn up on eBay, it's in pretty bad shape. Thanks for the tip anyway.
  7. Sounds like it's "Walkin' By" by The Boss Four. It was on one of those dodgy Soul Supply compilations (Northern Soul Story series). Cracking tune by the way.
  8. Damn, missed that one!! Thanks for the input, i figured i was kinda right. Now, who's gonna sell me a copy???
  9. Apologies if this has been asked before but can the good people of Soul Source tell me the actual value of this record. I was under the impression that the price varied from around £400 (for a VG+) to £500 (for an EX+ or Near Mint) but due to some responses i got from some fellow Soul Source members after placing a 'wants' for it, i'm not so sure. Also, how rare is it (i know a lot of them go through eBay but usually in poor condition)? Thanks in advance for your help.
  10. Looking for an original copy of this in decent condition. Please pm with details of condition and price. Thanks in advance.
  11. Superb tune! Been a favourite of mine for years and i didn't know it had a 45 release until recently. I had a vinyl carver of it but managed to get a real copy of it on here. Glad it's getting the spins it deserves. Somebody buy it, the picture sleeve is shite anyway!
  12. Same here, it's actually a great record to dance to and a superb track.
  13. Oh well, must have the story mixed up with something else I never saw an issue, can you possibly post a scan of it?
  14. It certainly is a rare record. Supposedly it was a promo copy only 7" that was pressed to promote the album (that the track appears on) and never actually got a release as a single. I read somewhere (i think it was on here actually) that only white label promotion copies exist and if it's an issue, it's a boot. I could be wrong of course and dreamt all of that but either way it's a brilliant slab of funky soul that took me ages to find. Best of luck.
  15. Frank Beverly & The Butlers - "If That's What You Wanted" Willie Hutch - "Love Runs Out" Roy Hamilton - "Crackin' Up Over You" Just 3 off the top of my head but i'm sure others will suggest more!
  16. Somebody steal that Fantastic Four record!!! Superb double sider at a give away price!
  17. Really like the flip side of this as well, beautiful when it builds up! Hey Pete, i'll buy the left side off ya for £50.
  18. Wow, how nice is that! He doesn't have a spare copy of the Constellations "I Don't Know About You" that he can sell for a fiver by any chance?
  19. I love Clarence Murray's "Don't Talk Like That" when he says "Come on fellas, let's go home" and the record just explodes and fades out beautifully leaving you wanting more, Soul perfection!
  20. Staggered 'Archer' stamp is definately a Re-press and that was confirmed to me by John Manship himself only recently after i queried the fact that he sold me a copy as an 'original' many years ago.
  21. J.J. Daniels "Mr. Lonesome" - tuuuuuuuuuuuuuuune! Why isn't this record massive??????
  22. How about the criminally under-rated Buckner Brothers "Love You From The Bottom Of My Heart" / "A Change Is Gonna Come"
