  1. Great film and fantastic group, been listening to a lot of their lp's recently and realizing how many great tracks they recorded. Thank You Temptations indeed!
  2. I got mine today (delivered to the arse end of Ireland). Fantastic looking book and an amazing 45, will read it over christmas, off to the pub now. Thanks for speedy delivery.
  3. Superb double sider that's well worth an offer! One of the best Anniversary singles IMHO. Milton Bennett almost made me weep when i first heard it and it's a contender for the best intro ever!
  4. Had a similar puzzle recently when deciding on a prezzie from my wife for my 40th birthday. I was thinking along the same lines as yourself (a 40 year old chunk of vinyl) which meant looking for records pressed in 1969 but decided in the end to go for a record that really means something special to me. In my case it was Frank Beverly & The Butlers "If That's What You Wanted", the tune that turned me on to all this madness and one of those records that i always left on the long finger. This train of thought may be helpful if you can't find a 50 year old record that you REALLY want. Best of luck and early birthday wishes (hope you get what you're looking for!).
  5. Hello all, looking for an "original" pressing of this. Please pm with price and condition if you can help. Thank You for looking.
  6. Thanks for all the replies and for your input. Now, is anybody out there willing to sell me an ORIGINAL copy??
  7. The Whispers "I Can't See Myself Leaving You" would be £8 well spent. Superb under-rated track!
  8. Hello good people of Soul Source. Looking for some information about this track if anyone can help? What is the current (realistic) value of an original pressing and is there a surefire way of telling the original from the bootleg copy? Thanks for reading, any info appreciated.
  9. The first tunes i usually hear at the start of the day is when i'm in my car going to work so the first 3 i heard this morning were from a self made compilation : THE BAMBOOS - "STEP IT UP" SHARON JONES & THE DAP KINGS - "KEEP LOOKING" LACK OF AFRO - "TOUCH MY SOUL" Great music to wake you up in the morning!!
  10. I think Reg is the type of person that shows up at around 4 in the morning and breaks into your house to watch you sleep. Thanks for posting Pete, gave me a good giggle!
  11. Surely one of the hardest records to dance to has to be Melba Moore "The Magic Touch", it's all over the place!!
  12. Superb post with some VERY interesting points and one of the main reasons for myself and others from Ireland not bothering to travel for it last year. I used to really look forward to and enjoy this weekend but feel it's not really worth the time, effort and money anymore and something needs to be done.
  13. Can't stop singing Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings "Keep Looking" at the moment (even humming the break at the end).
  14. Greetings from the arse end of Ireland (the land of wind and rain).
  15. This is how i feel myself! Interesting post. Being from Ireland, i regard myself as on the 'outside looking in' as far as the Northern Soul scene is concerned but just as passionate as Soul fans in the U.K. To me, that's what it's all about - Passion! I, for one, plan to sample as many countries as possible in the future and then make my own judgement.
  16. The Moods "Rainmaker" Been "rediscovering" this amazing track recently and can't stop playing it. A bargain at £25 me thinks. Has this record ever "had it's day"?
  17. Weird, i sold quite a few records to this buyer a few months back and all transactions went super smooth and positive feedback was left instantly. Prices ranged from around $10. to $80.
  18. Little Charles - "It's A Heartache" Absolute bargain in my opinion! What a f***in' record!!
  19. That one's gone mate, i already e-mailed him about it around a month ago. This was around the same time i kept getting outbid on it on eBay so demand is a little high for this at the moment. Put it this way, i just secured a copy for £50 and i was glad to get it.
  20. Personally, i think the Italian pressing is more desirable (comes with nice picture sleeve as well). What i find interesting about the Italian one is the use of strings on "Love Your Pain Goes Deep" which i don't think are on the U.S. pressing? Do strings feature on the Greek pressing?
  21. Sorry for hi-jacking thread but i'm looking for a copy of this as well. Has anybody else got one for a decent price?
