  2. I have a very nice copy of this for sale if anyone is interested - I'm thinking £25 plus P & P?
  3. Sensible offers accepted - especially as a job lot...
  4. I wish I hadn't looked at this list. I had the Conquistadors in the 80s when Keb played it at Stafford (he got me the copy)... and I let it go for probably £25 or something stupid back in the day.... feck (along with so many other Darge hand-me-downs)
  5. I've had a quick online trawl to come up with prices for these - please feel free to make offers or let me know if I'm way off the mark as I haven't sold any records for years... The prices listed are the same or lower than I found on my various web searches. All are original 7" vinyl and in mint condition. I had these to review them for publications like Echoes in the 1980s when they were new - all have only ever been played once. Prices include postage. The (World Famous) Mad Lads - I think I'm falling for for you/The first time ever I saw your face - US Express £50 Chamberlain - Tease/When Will I know - US CEC £100 Davida Lyn Jenkins - Consider me - US G-Group £75 Cheryl Hunter - Make good love to me/Want my lovin' - US Chelar £10 Rob C - I'll never let you down/Give me all your lovin' - US JM £25 Eric Rapier - Can't stop dreamins/Instrumental - US Keynote £15 William Stuckey - Girl, I got you on the run/Subrina - US Artx £10 Willie John - I don't just want your body/Instrumental - US Campo £25 R.B. Hudmon - Your man is home tonite/Instrumental - US Gold Key £10 Latriste and Taalor Made - Stay with me/If your love is real - US Sweet Needles £20 Ronnie Dyson - See the clown/Shine (come towards the light) - UK Ardent £15 I'd be happy to sell them as a lot or individually. Cheers, Pete (Paypal preferred)
  6. A tribute to the 50th Anniversary of Motown records, playing classic tunes from the Detroit record label that started a dance music revolution, and quality 60s Soul tracks inspired by 'the sound of young black America'. Pete Robinson and special guests bringing you a wonderful free Northern Soul party over the Bank Holiday weekend - Sunday April 12 from 9pm - 1am. Downstairs at The Globe in Middle Street, Brighton - a cool little bar and dancefloor - see you there!

  7. All sorted, thanks
  8. Looking for Chris Clark's "Love's Gone Bad" on VIP - price to include UK P&P. Paypal or cheque. Many thanks - Pete
  9. Please hold Chris Clark for me if still available - have sent you a PM
  10. Sooo.. what about the pressings? There seems to be two different recordings of the track. I seem to remember buying a Motown issue around 1979/80 from a market in Sheffield for a quid (I now have 2004 issue that states 1979 as the 'original issue' date). Then there's the Stardust pressing, which has a 'richer' sounding backing track (even the vocal sounds enhanced) - its more like the Chris Clark version. And what's the story behind Chris Clark's version? This on the reverse of both pressings and sounds pretty much the same on both to my old ears. Questions, questions... often wondered and never bothered... until now ;)
  11. Found thanks to advertising on Soul Source
  12. Copy wanted ASAP - doesn't need to be mint. Cheers, Pete
  13. Indeed - anyone got a spare for sale at a credit crunching price please?
  14. £88 for a £25 - £30 quid record unless I'm way off the mark?
  15. THE ETHICS - I WANT MY BABY BACK (VENT) - for dj-ing.
  16. Still for sale - make a credit crunch offer for the a-side
  17. Cheers guys!
  18. What sort of price does this go for these days?
  19. Looking for an original copy of 'Send him back' on Atlantic please - no boots. PM me if you have one for sale.
  20. I think you might have me confused with another Pete Robinson (I think I have seen the name on an event somewhere). I'm an East Anglia immigrant to Brighton! Ain't got no RCA pop that I'm aware of
  21. Hmmm... might try the glue to the edge, although tape trick is working OK so far. What's the most expensive record anyone has snapped/trashed? I'll start the bidding in the £150-£200 range at today's prices!
  22. I don't whether it is me being clumsy, or if 40 year old vinyl becomes more brittle with time - put this year I have managed to but a crack right through 3 of my treasured 7 inches (snapped across from the centre, to one edge - not completely snapped in half). This has been quite innocent stuff like sliding it back into the card sleeve, or today - rubbing the label gently to remove a spot of dirt. Ironically the first track which suffered this fate was 'Fragile, handle with care' by Sam Dees on an Atlantic demo (you couldn't make this stuff up!!). While appreciating that the answer is BE CAREFUL YOU NUMPTY - has anyone had success with 'fixing' cracked vinyl. So far I have found some strategically placed clear tape on either the label or non playing side just about does it well enough for DJing on a club system - but there's still a feint click on my home stereo. Any tips? Other than to transfer them onto laptop and never play the real thing again, or buy CDs...
  23. Any news for me on my order & album reservation? Regards - Pete Robinson (Brighton)
  24. Thanks - payment on its way
