The best dance shoes by far were the Como leather soled shoes that came in a plain or broghe design. They were lighter than an normal shoe and the leather soles were thinner and wider. Sadly they are no longer made, and haven't been since the 70's. I can't even find a picture of them online. The next best were the da vinci jazz shoe from Derby. Great for jazz dancing, with a very thin leather sole and a tiny heel. The leather uppers were a very soft and thin, and came in many bright colours. Also no longer made since the late 80's. These are my current dance shoes in red from Dune, already nearly 10yrs old. Also a pair of brown office shoes similar to the jazz shoes but with a more chisel toe.

Leroy Taylor is the artist on Not the marrying kind, not Keni Lewis. There has been two official presses on the federal green label. One Christmas I decided to get all the releases for my wife of her favourite artist, Divine Comedy. She already had some cd's but I managed to find all the rest, bar one. So I downloaded it and burned to a cd for her. She was very happy! If I was completing the same quest as you and I was six tracks short, because they didn't exist on official cds then I would find the best copies and burn them to a cd myself. There's no use searching for something that currently doesn't exist when you can get them another way, at least until they might become available. You only have one life:-)

I can trace my tinnitus back to one night talking (listening mostly) to Val from Bromsgrove right in front of the speakers on the stage (why did I do that)! I suppose its an ever present reminder of the All-Nighters.

I've a few Keith stories. I'd just passed my driving test and was celebrating at a Newcastle Tiffs bank holiday all dayer. I'd had a few drinks and Brian Rae convinced me to drive a few of us to an all nighter at Derby Tiff in Keith's wife's mini. Keith said don't worry I'll get the wife to drive you home to Warrington in the morning. So off we go, not really knowing the way, but made it there OK. On the way home I fell asleep at the wheel on a motorway/dual carriageway and quickly woke up when I scraped the central reservation. Got to Keith's House, and for some reason my lift was no longer available. So had to hitch it 30 miles home, or upto Sandbach services where I persuaded Denny Johnson to get me home. The Whitchurch all dayer was on that day but was too tired to go. Only one I ever missed:-(

Talking to a friend last week, from the Wirral, and he told me stories about the archives at the BBC in Liverpool. He said they had multiple demo copies of everything to service the outlying radio stations. Some of these found new homes elsewhere!
