  2. I have Hamilton Movement 'really saying something' (cover of the Velvelettes) on Polydor. Is it worth anything? Rob

  6. Hi All I need the following numbers on Four Brothers to complete the set. 403 Edith Brown 404 Johnny little John Can anyone confirm that they exist, as I have never seen them for sale. They are not on Popsike either. If they do exist, what are they like? While I'm at it , can anyone confirm the existence of St Lawrence 1018 McKinley Mitchell - Boogaloo and chilli dog. Again It's on the Discography, but I've never seen one. Many Thanks Rob
  7. Just noticed I have a copy of RT-122 (Ain't love wonderful) with the label of RT-128 ( Romeo and Juliets ) on the reverse . It correctly plays 'the whole world is a stage' though . I'm sure it's not rare, but it makes you wonder why they were pressing Rt-122 and had labels ready for Rt-128 at the same time. Rob
  8. Is it listed as by Mckinley Mitchell or Billy Bland? I would love to see one of these as it must be a very rare record. Rob Â
  9. Can anybody answer my initial query about Mckinley Mitchell? Thanks Rob
  10. Anybody ? need this to finish the run Rob
  11. Does St Lawrence 1018 exist ?  Mckinley Mitchell  'boogaloo & chilli dog'. If so can anyboby put up a sound clip. Many thanks Rob
  12. Love this record. My US copy has Arthur Wright as the arranger, but a UK issue i've seen has George Tipton as the arranger. Are there 2 versions. Thanks Rob
  13. I'm just reading HBS issue 44 from 1976. It just goes to show how much we know now compared with then. The Ric tic discography has gaps at nos 121 & 125. In the notes at the end it states "somewhere in the gaps is the Fantastic Four - 'can't stop looking for my baby' " The most interesting thing of all is a quote from Edwin Starr, who after seeing the list said "Oh yes, i can see your list, but you've missed one. It was right at the end and only about 100 copies were put out in the shops, and Motown bought us out, and bought up all the records. It was a real monster, but i forgot what it was called. You know, i heard the same tune by 100 proof, and they called it 'Somebodys been sleeping in my bed' - just the same tune". Now we all know that can't have been true - don't we..... Rob
  14. Just listening to the Jealous Kind of Fellow album. Every track is a winner. I especially like his version of 'forty days and nights'. The sleeve notes say he is a genius and destined to become a big star - so what happened? Rob
  15. I have a copy of Little Jimmy Scott 'do you get the message/the soul message' Giant 706.All the discographies list this with 'It rained forty days and nights'. Was this released twice? any info greatly appreciated. Many thanks Rob
  16. Last night on ebay Sandpapers 'Aint gonna kiss ya' on Charger. Brilliant tune and a major bargain At 99 cents. Rob
  17. Thanks for the info. The discography on Soulfulkindamusic has the Barbara Mason at NO 111. I guess it must be an error. Rob
  18. Other than Dobie Gray is there anything of interest on Charger. I only recognise Barbara mason from the discography. Any sound clips greatly appreciated. Thanks Rob
  19. "Really saying something", Polydor UK from 1965. Think this is originally by the Velvelettes. It sounds like a white group - does anyone know anything about it? Cheers Rob
