The Zing album was a new import release at the time i worked in a great record shop in Mansfield(Syd Booths) we got most of new releases from Record Corner in Balham i played the album and found the vocal to "Scruboard on the album played it to death at The Swan in Mansfield with my Co - Pilot Derek Banner.He went on to Dj at Mr Ms & Samanthas at the time everyone wanted the album at the time cos it was not available on single till later great album from a fab philly group Phil K.

Hi just to say that the Mansfield Civic Centre SOUL NITE is not a out and out NORTHERN SOUL NITE and Never has been, is does not say that on the flyer that we advertise yes true it is a bit hand baggy we do play ATB soul from all genras to people who possible have NEVER been to Wigan and any other Northern Soul venues in there youth or past. I do put on Northern Soul & Modern Soul Events to which i State on the Flyer thats what you will get so to avoid any confusion but hey ho you still get folk moaning about the music policy. Mansfield and Notts is Well covered with a array of Northern Soul Nites to suit all tastes so you can pick where to go and hopefully have a good time whatever floats your boat,our punters at the Civic enjoy a Good Friendly nite out once a Month so thats what we give them in return,hey ho sorry it was not to your taste Dan Phil K.

Yes i too had many great times at Prestatyn and i think the writing was on the board after the March event this year when the "new owners" chopped out acts and djs. Had a feeling October one was a none starter went last year it was great but i think new owners have got it wrong lets see. If You Knew Dean He Was A great Character And Loved His Soul Music And Moter Bike Racing He will Be Sadly Missed By A Lot Of People Who Knew Him From the Soul Scene.He Was An old friend And A regular In the Talbot Pub In Mansfield Where I do a Soul Night And attended many a venue over the years.
