  1. To be fair, either of those options would improve most songs. I love it as it is. It just makes me want to dance!
  2. Brilliant stuff Pete, this is lovely!
  3. Ooh mysterious intrigue! Thanks Ady, next year doesn't seem like too far away.
  4. Thanks mate. That's a pity; it's on the Who's Blue? Etta Compilation CD which I think I got about a year ago (so Ady must have had access then) but I really, really want it on a 45.
  5. Not true then? Bugger!
  6. The facebook northern soul thing seems to be suggesting this is an impending Kent Select 45. What a tune this is! Can anybody confirm this please?
  7. Personal preference would be for a dedicated instrumental CD with 7's for the best of the bunch, but I guess it's hard to judge what the demand would be and which would generate the best return. I'm happy to get them in any format you can put them out on! The approach you take with Kent (vinyl and subsequently CD) compilations has always worked for me. I have bought the lot and will always do so. I guess you'll need to work out what people whose anorak hoods are less zipped up will buy.
  8. Then you should jolly well stop being blasé about them Mr Croasdell. If you have them, you really should let us at them.
  9. My daughter and her mates from Uni are going to that one, sorry!
  10. This is just awesome. I am struggling to come to terms with the fact that so many of these exist and have been kept so quiet. Surely stuff of this quality deserves a commercial release?
  11. Bloody hell! These are fantastic. Thanks Rob
  12. Don't know about a 7" but I have it on a 1979 12" One side is "LP version" the other is "New version". Cheers John
  13. Chapter One. Only on download at the moment.
  14. Not the trick that I think you think you have missed, but have a listen to the Ace Compilation Behind Closed Doors: Where Country Meets Soul and Millie Jackson's On the Soul Country Side. I used to be of the I hate both kinds - Country & Western - inclination, but not any more!
  15. I'm Grateful and Don't Stop Now are in the Motown 7's Box Set Volume 2. Now under thirty five quid on Amazon.
  16. What a complete waste of time and money. I would guess that the Retro Bag Shop failed to pay Mr Brian Poulton the sum of £2000 within seven days.
  17. Thanks. We'll definitely give the Twisted Knee a visit.
  18. They are excellent.
  19. The Soundtrack arrived from Amazon today. I've enjoyed listening, as I knew I would, the interview with Elaine is excellent. The bit about the handclap in Duke Browner just nails what it's all about for me. But the highlight is Richard's interview. It's had the questions edited out so it's just him talking. Very interesting indeed.
  20. I have just booked online for the first night at Wigan Empire on Friday 17/10/14. Only half a dozen or so gone. Free upgrade to luxury wide seat - are they trying to tell me something?
  21. Yes. Very like that. But with dead bodies.
  22. I agree entirely Dave. The Casino was a cash cow but none of it ever got reinvested in any kind of improvements. I dread to think what it would have been like if a fire broke out on a night when the building was rammed?
  23. I've been to a couple of his Funk 'n' Soul things at the Band on the Wall and enjoyed 'em. I have mates who don't like Northern who really rate them. I can't knock him for doing anything to make a few quid and he is very friendly and enthusiastic. I give him a lot of credit for promoting the best of new music on his BBC 6 show; for example Smoove & Turrell.
  24. I leave feedback as soon as I have my record. I haven't had a problem with sellers reciprocating. Having not sold a record for 43 years, I don't have a problem the other way round.
