  1. Best wishes to one of the early pioneers of the scene! Get your self well and see you soon. (Farmer) Carl Dene
  2. Hi Richard, Just noticed your post asking about Dave Williams. Better late than never! I'm still very much in touch with Dave and fondly remember our meetings/discussions with you! I'm happy to pass on Dave's contact details if you contact me. It would be great to be in touch with you again! All the best, Carl
  3. To a true pioneer - best wishes for the future. I've no doubt you'll soon wonder how you ever found time to work! Keep spinning, educating and growing the following of the sounds that we all love! See you on 12 July at Lea Hall for the Soulvation Catacombs DJ revival night! Carl Dene
  4. Hello Brian, Great to get your reply. I'll certainly send you info about any of my "resurrection" do's where I usually tend to play the sounds of up to 1971 plus some of the more well known later on. I am working part-time now and finding some time to re-purchase one or two of the old classics that I let go over the years. Do you still have all the old sounds and still collect - or did the cash come in handy to buy that yacht or some other expensive luxury!! It would certainly be good to meet up again at some point and to keep in touch. Look forward to hearing further. Also, whilst posting, a quick hello to the Bridgnorth lads - those Saturdays at the Castle Hall were pretty good were'nt they? And hello to the Gloucester folk - what about the Sunday night's at the Library after the Chateau Impney 4-7 club, and the 7.00pm Mike Raven soul show on the Beeb? I'm so sorry to hear about Froggy - he was a real one-off and seemrd to me to be totally dedicated to the rhythm and soul / northern soul scene. Hope we can keep the thread going!!
  5. Hi Richard, I hope this reply gets on to the forum. Even though I joined some time ago this is my first post on this - or any - forum! A groundbreaking moment for me. So good to see many of the well known early Northern soul folk mentioned in one forum - I couldn't resist the temptation to get involved. It would be great to keep in touch and discuss those halcyon days! Also, memories return of seeing Brian at the Wheel almost every week and those discussions / record deals! I'm about to go out but I'll post again. I'm still "doing a bit" of dj work - mostly on revival nights, including some bookings for another old buddy, Neil Rushton. I'm just about to go out, but will post again soon. Would be good to hear from any / all of you meantime! All the best for now Carl
