  9. When I went to see my mum at christmas we were talking about the old days when my parents owned a pub (70's/80's) and she recalled that I always taped the Robbie Vincent shows on Saturdays and my parents used to play them in the pub! but there was one track that she really liked and still has on an old cassette of mine , trouble is I missed the start and can't remember who it was by , I'm sure the track is called 'LOVERMAN' and seem to recall Robbie saying it was only available on Jap Import it has a lot of vibes on it (I think). I know it's a long shot but if anybody can ' name that tune ' you'll make me and my 74yo mum very happy and hopefully I can get it on CD for her. Cheers Swifty p.s. Mum's into 70's Philly at the moment , how cool's that !

  15. Had that in my favourites since last christmas , I'm sure somebody posted it on SS last year. Is it the cartoon style one with Santa and Reindeer ?? Belting xmas tune I played to everybody who came round last year and they all wanted to know where they could get it. A possible Christmas number 1 eh! better than the other shite that gets to no.1 !!! Happy Christmas Swifty
  16. Carl , I think you are achieving what a lot of people would only dream of doing, I have nothing but admiration for you mate 'cause you're doing it for the right reasons (maybe the Bank manager would'nt agree ) but you are actually doing it for the 'Music' and if you cover your costs I'm sure you would be more than happy. I think some Vince Montana vibes would suit imho , hey but who am I ! Keep it up mate and I haven't forgotten about the 'Spyder' Single whih I wll order at the weekend. Keep on truckin' mate - as they say in little old Louth , Lincs - Not ! Cheers Swifty

  21. Ive been having a bit of a sort out this morning and have come across about a dozen old pressings/Boots . I bought these in the 70's as did most people on the scene then. My question is if I put these on ebay what is the best way to describe them without getting into trouble because I cant really call them re-issues , can I ? Obviously I will state clearly that they are not originals. any Ideas ? Cheers Swifty p.s. one of them is 'The Magnificents' - Just Walk in My Shoes - who was it really ?
  22. Jealous as F**k reading stuff like this Alan , it must have been like being a kid in a candy store ! I suppose a lot of the stuff was bought blind because it was so cheap or could you actually listen to the records before you bought them? Did you send the vinyl back to the uk by freight/courier etc or did you carry it back in luggage and if so did you have to pay any duty/taxes? So many questions eh! Cheers Swifty p.s. what would you say would be the best area in the States to find vinyl nowadays or has it all been tapped (but it's a bloody big place!)
  23. Has any kind soul out there got a copy of this for me , brings back a lot of memories Please PM me Cheers Swifty
